Health EN ↓ 320 episodes

Loss and Grief is something we will all experience in this lifetime. This podcast started out with Jack Church hosting a show on grief and loss after losing his lovely wife Pam after 30 years of marriage. Determined never to marry again, God had other plans. Almost 5 years after that loss Jack met a young woman in church named Nicole who is originally from Kenya. What started as friendship grew to love and later marriage. Jack and Nicole are now living together what they call their Chapter 2 in life. Watch us on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@lifewithjackandnicole

A Day for Venting! 28.04.2021

Dear Pam, I have to be careful what I say today because I've had a couple of times where I'm just mad that you're not here. In fact the photo I pulled out today from 2018 with you modeling this incredibly cute dress in your model like figure did make me smile but also made me angry because I want you here and like a kid I want you now? It seems...

Did God Send me Another Angel? 27.04.2021

More decisions to be made where I could sure use my sweet Pam's input. Also today, while sitting in a local coffee shop I could swear Pam was sitting across the room from me. Was it her? Was it an angel? I'll never know for sure, but I did enjoy talking with her.

Making Connections at Church 26.04.2021

One of the more difficult things I've encountered over the past few months is finding a new church home. After being a couple for over 30 years it can be challenging to say the least visiting churches solo. However. on this Sunday for the first time in a long time I may have finally found a home.

Couples are like a good PB & J Sandwich 25.04.2021

When we lose someone we love and adore, life can sometimes feel like a dry peanut butter sandwich that desperately needs jam but it's nowhere to be found.

Blowing the Big Interview 24.04.2021

So I had my big chance recently at a podcast hosting position for a mega size broadcast platform. It was the opportunity of a lifetime that comes around only about once every 100 years. I know broadcasting. It's been my entire life since I was in high school. Put a microphone or camera in front of me and I can talk about anything for as long as you want. However, in a matter of less than 5 minutes...

Grief is Like Sailing in the Ocean 23.04.2021

I had a touch couple of days as the seas seemed to be crashing down on me hour by hour. However, today was much better. It was good day to be on the high seas.

I Had a Tough Day, How about You? 22.04.2021

We all have down days. And for those us that have experienced significant loss some days that really prove to be a challenge. Today was one of those days. However, I made it thru the day and hopefully tomorrow will be better. What set me off? Not being able to talk to Pam, a trip to the store and passing by a Chipotle Grill!

My New Addiction 21.04.2021

Yes, I have a new addiction. But it's not what anyone would ever think. In fact I find it healthy for my mind and soul while also putting some extra cash in bank account. And yes, it's perfectly legal.

How to talk with someone about their loss 20.04.2021

I heard from a listener recently that wanted to know what they should talk about with people that have experienced significant loss in their lives. Often times people want to avoid asking about the person they lost when in reality most people really want to talk about those people.

Sunday Church, Fishing and Dinnner for 2? 19.04.2021

What can I say? Sundays and church continue to be a challenge but my afternoons always rescue me sad feelings as I continue to meet new and interesting people. Later, I decided on a nice dinner with the only thing missing...you of course!

Door Dash for Grief Support 18.04.2021

Many of us whom have suffered loss find some weekends can be challenging. We are not working which takes up a great part of our weekdays and often we find ourselves struggling with sad thoughts on the weekend when we usually spent time doing things with our soulmates. I too suffer from this from time to time but may have found an unusual way of diverting my thoughts thru a little thing called Door...

Property Brothers Made Me Cry 17.04.2021

When we experience loss, the healing process is different for everyone. For me, it's now been almost 18 months and I can honestly say I'm 10x better than I was a year go. However, the loss of my sweet bride Pam has changed me forever in so many different ways. One area that I am totally different in, comes in the form of my emotions and how easily little things can send me into tears. Today it was...

Why I may work 7 Days a Week 16.04.2021

I'v te mentioned before how weekends can be tought without Pam because she was my best friend, wife, love and my everything. I do get out every weekend and manage to do a good bit. However, I really miss human interaction because my weekday job is largely from home except for sometimes I go on the road. So...I've decided working weekends may be what I need. In today's podcast I reveal a potential...

No Calendars in Heaven 15.04.2021

Today I started thinking about the may walks I took with my beautiful bride Pam over the years and how much I missed those walks. At the same time I had some questions for her but never heard back. It then dawned on me that time restraints are something we have here on earth but likely not in heaven.

Love Letter Found 14.04.2021

During my brides final months on earth I became a caregiver for this beautiful, sexy woman who could hike ten miles and still play 18 holes. Sadly, as cancer took over her bones, it became necessary for me to help her do some of the simple daily tasks. However, she stayed strong and even kept working with my help up until 2 weeks before she left for heaven. During those final months I would someti...

Made the Lady in Costco Cry 13.04.2021

No, it's not what you may be thinking. I did make a lady in Costco cry but it was actually very sweet. That and the fact I met a musician with a boat for sale that came from over 2000 miles away from where I just moved from. Just another day filled with adventure and suprises as I continue navigating life without my sweetheart.

I Miss Talking to You 12.04.2021

One of the hardest things about losing someone we love and the loss of simple things like having a quiet conversation over dinner or discussing events of the day. Instead we are left talking into thin air and the walls that surround us.

Weekends are Tough for Many 11.04.2021

Widows, widowers, parents that's have lost a child, boyfried or girlfriend that's have gone thru a breakup. All of the above struggle with weekends because that's the time many of us cherished as time spent with the love of our lives. For me...weekends prove to be challenging and this weekend was especially challenging until I heard a message from a 33 year old woman with an unbelievable outlook o...

Is there Golf in Heaven? 10.04.2021

I love this weekend because it's the Master's Golf Tournament. Pam and I were both avid golfers and always looked forward to this special weekend. At the same time it was also my grandparents, Mom and Pop Morris's favorite weekend. You could say our family loved golf but we also saw a connection between Augusta National and heave.

Meeting in a Parking Lot 09.04.2021

I'm convinced there are no chance meetings in life but I truly believe God arranges for us sometimes to run into to certainly people. For me I've had several "arranged" meetings the past year or so. One such meeting occured this evenning in the parking lot near where I live. It made for a nice encounter.

Learning to be Thankful 08.04.2021

There are days my job sucks and miss being the TV weather guy. Of course I miss my lovely wife Pam every hour of every day. However, I learned on this day there are many things I am thankful for. And when we carefully look past our loss to see what we have, it can a great time to reflect on our blessings.

Travolta, Neeson, Dione & Short 07.04.2021

I've come to realize I have a lot in common with entertainners like John Travolta, Liam Neeson, Martin Short and Celine Dione.

A Day to Remember 06.04.2021

Today was a day filled with surprises. I had a great extended conversation with a Hollywood actress, a Fedex driver and a woman in town to receive special medical treatment for her daughter. It was truly a day to remember.

An Easter to Remember 05.04.2021

Holidays can sometimes be tough for those that have experienced the loss of a loved one. However, I find with a little planning they can actually still be special. This Easter I made a trip for the weekend seeing our kids in the mountains of North Carolina while later stopping to see some friends where I met a sweet couple that just moved here from China. Indeed, it was an Easter to remember and I...

Easter Memories 04.04.2021

Easter is one of my favorite holidays because it holds the promise of an afterlife in heaven which means someday I will see my sweet Pam as well as other relatives that have gone before me.
