Throughout my training and practice as a physician I have come to one very disappointing conclusion: Western medicine isn’t helping people lead better lives. Now that I’ve realized this, I’ve become obsessed with understanding what makes us healthy or ill. I want to live the best life I can and I want to be able to share this knowledge with others so that they can do the same. This podcast is the result of my relentless search to understand the roots of chronic disease. I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

Controversial Thoughts: Should you include calcium on your Carnivore or Animal-Based diet? 26.02.2021

Short answer: yes!   Just because your blood calcium levels are within normal doesn’t mean you don’t need calcium in your diet.   How can you get this? If you tolerate dairy that’s a good option, but for most, I believe calcium from bones as MCHA (microcrystalline hydroxyapatite) is the best option.    That’s why we made our Bone Matrix supplement at Heart & Soil.     In this video, I discuss evid...

Controversial Thoughts: How is an Animal-Based diet different than a Paleo diet? 15.01.2021

Animal-based vs Keto vs Paleo Though at first glance an #Animalbased diet may look like a ketogenic or paleo diet, there are some key differences. Though a paleo diet includes meat, this type of eating forgets about the incredible nutrient richness found in organs like liver, heart, kidney, etc. A paleo diet also leaves in nuts/seeds/and leafy greens which don't really provide any unique nutrients...

Controversial Thoughts: Should you include dairy on your Animal-Based diet? 18.12.2020

In short, yes (as long as you tolerate it)!   Milk, yogurt, butter, ghee and colostrum are amazing sources of nutrients that have been highly valued by many indigenous groups for millenia.
