Paul Saladino, MD
Paul Saladino MD podcast
Throughout my training and practice as a physician I have come to one very disappointing conclusion: Western medicine isn’t helping people lead better lives. Now that I’ve realized this, I’ve become obsessed with understanding what makes us healthy or ill. I want to live the best life I can and I want to be able to share this knowledge with others so that they can do the same. This podcast is the result of my relentless search to understand the roots of chronic disease. I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

Controversial Thoughts: How broccoli could be bad for you 21.05.2021 16:47
What if vegetables aren’t good for you, after all? What if that spinach is causing your joint pain? What if that kale is causing your stomach issues? What if that broccoli is messing up your digestion and your thyroid? If you think about things from the perspective of plants, the idea of plant toxicity makes much more sense. Plants don’t want to be eaten, but they can’t run away like an...

Controversial Thoughts: This is my why... 14.05.2021 11:03
I felt compelled this week to share my "why," why I do what I do. This one is heartfelt. Hope you all enjoy it! Simply put, the mainstream medical paradigm is inadequate and this leads millions to suffer unnecessarily. I've seen this in my life, my family, and my friends and it's something I want to be a part of changing. Why have we accepted autoimmune illness, chronic pain, heart disease, c...
106. Animal-Based vs Plant-Based, part 1.5. My response to Joel Fuhrman 11.05.2021 1:42:58
In our first podcast I asked Joel to provide any interventional studies showing harm from red meat, or any unprocessed meat. He was unable to provide these studies at that time, or in the 2 weeks that followed before I released our podcast debate. After that time he wrote a blog post with his thoughts in response to many of the points I raised during the podcast, providing what he believed to be s...

104. Will Biden become the hamburglar or defend meat? 30.04.2021 22:39
Rumors that Biden's climate plan might include limitations on red meat consumption turned out to be unfounded but mainstream threats against the most nutritious foods on the planet (animal meat and organs, especially red meat) remain very real! In this episode of Controversial Thoughts, I attack many of the usual criticisms against meat head-on and discuss disturbing trends in our culture which...

Controversial Thoughts: Is there one optimal diet for all humans? 23.04.2021 16:43
Would you be surprised if my answer was "no?" ... You are very different than other people you know, some might even say you are a snowflake, "one in a million..." 😂 And that's basically true... The diet that's ideal for you is different than mine and different than what your brother/sister/mom/dad may find to be best for them... BUT! I do believe there are 2 major overarching principles that wil...

Controversial Thoughts: Why you can’t lose weight! 02.04.2021 14:08
The weight loss paradigm is all wrong! Rather than focusing on weight loss to “get healthy” (and simply limiting calories without any change in food quality, aka weight watchers), you should be improving the quality of your foods to get healthy with weight loss following naturally. Listen to this week’s edition of Controversial Thoughts for my breakdown of how I think you should be eating in orde...

Controversial Thoughts: What I think about the COVID vaccine and long haul COVID syndromes. 12.03.2021 21:39
I said COVID twice in the title, and vaccine once. I’m pretty sure this video will get censored! Vaccine thoughts: Apparent benefits but many have side effects with the second dose. I hope it’s safe for the sake of my parents... I won’t get it because I’ve already had COVID, it was mild, and I am metabolically healthy… Here’s hoping there’s not a vaccine mandate. I think that’s a bad ide...

Controversial Thoughts: Is Honey Really the Same As Sugar? 05.03.2021 33:40
Oooo guys! This is a good one, and it’s going to ruffle some keto-feathers… There is a tendency within nutritional circles to fall prey to reductionist thinking… We know sugar is bad, right? Therefore any foods (not matter how evolutionarily consistent) that contain sucrose, or the evil-fructose are bad for you, too, right? Not so fast seabass! These apparent evolutionary inconsistencies...
