Imagine, if you will, a sketchy motel room that is seemingly outside the parameters of what we consider "real" or "logical". Next, imagine that you had a key that could open any door and take you straight to said room.  That's where we kick off our journey into the underseen gem from the early aughts, The Lost Room! Travel along with us via either YouTube viewing or DVD, and if not, we hope that i...

Howdy boys and girls, and welcome back to the bowels of the bunker! We hope you're ready to join us as we go on another adventure into the madcap and the macabre, because this episode is a doozy! We've got Tinglers, 14 hour space epics, psycho-sexual religious zealots, and ex pimps - turned angsty PIs - turned shitty painters. All that and so much more await you in this fiasco known as We Belong D...

Welcome to another installment from the Secretary's Secret Lair. It is a concept as old as time. What once meant potential death, can now just feel like impending dome for most. I'm talking about the inevitable, Rejection. It comes from many directions but it doesn't mean our fate. I explore four movies that represent the theme of Rejection. I combine 1931s Frankenstein and 1935s Bride of Frankens...

The Secretary's Secret Lair is back with an appropriate 13th episode. This month we explore Evil Kids centered around biological, nurture and environmental theories. The movies that best give us an example of these are The Bad Seed (1956), Alice Sweet Alice (1974) and Who Can Kill a Child aka Island of the Damn (1976).  Are these children at fault for their behavior or just merely innocent by stan...

Happy Holidays and New Year.  I made it just under the wire to bring you a holiday episode. This month I am focusing on the three, some of my favorite Christmas movies. The first being the greatest in my humble opinion, 1974's Black Christmas, followed by Silent Night (2021) and ending with the most fun I have had all year with a, 2023's Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talismans of Souls. What do all...

Well, it's early December, and you know what that means. That's right, it's time to present the 31 Days of Halloween 2023! This year's edition is a certified monster, with a ton of new-to-us flicks, old comfort staples, and what some might consider a ludicrous amount of double and triple features. So settle in kiddos, because this is gonna be a helluva ride! Have any questions or comments for us?...

In this special episode, I get flipped up and turned around as I invite my boss, Lono from We Belong Dead into my secret lair. Even though Mr. Lono and I have corresponded for a couple years, this is the first time we have spoken virtual face to face. Lono takes the rings and we kick back discussing horror through his many questions to allow the listeners to get to know me a little better. You kno...

Happy Holiday, your secretary has another unnerving episode for you this month. I examine three possession movies by giving you the history of the true story behind the first two, The Exorcist and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Then we drift away from Catholicism to explore Judaism approach of possession and exorcism in Demon (2015).  In the psychology segment I discuss the skepticism reasons from th...

How about an hour-long treat this spooky season from yer weird Uncle Lono! Listen as he rambles on and on and gets more and more annoyed as he takes a truly shallow dive into the entire Halloween film franchise! The good (Thank you, Mr. Carpenter!), the bad (H20 means WATER!), and the very ugly (I'm lookin' at YOU Mr. Gordon Green)! It's definitely a journey to hell and Haddonfield! Grab this SPEC...

And just like that, we're back on track! Feels good to be back in the studio so soon, and Bo Diddley do we have a treat in store for you. Once we give our respects to some heavy hitters who have recently departed, we discuss a good bit of horror news, go into our Friday the 13th shenanigans, play some tunes from a couple of newly discovered bands, and have a Scare Exchange that's guaranteed to sho...

You'd think that for someone who's been doing this podcasting gig as long as we have, we'd be better at staying on schedule. Yet again, life reared it's ugly, pustule laden head and fucked us up! But we are fresh outta the studio to provide you with the hilarious, reefer-hazed content that you so crave. We've got horror news, Happy Tree Friends references, Ian's grueling journey through the Howlin...

Welcome my servants, it is your Mother Superior and I just recorded another episode In the Secretary's Secret Lair. I discus Nunsploitation and four movies. The first is The Nun and the Devil, then The True Story of the Nun of Monza, followed by a great Japanaese Nunsploitation, School of the Holy Beast. Lastly, the movie that started it all, The Devils.  Some of these films ar e based on history,...

Admit it, you've missed us. At least a little bit, right? Well, apologies for playing hard to get lately, but hopefully we're past this hump of random life shit getting in the way of our studio time. That being said, we have got a helluva show for you this week! Once we get past the sad, but hopefully cathartic, heavy hitter RIPs, we have got plenty of goodies in store for you. We discuss new ston...

Ahoy freaks! I know, I know, where the hell is WBD ep. 117??? Well, it's been delayed to this weekend due to unforseen circumstances. Fear not, megasode 117 is right around the corner! So, to bridge that grimey little gap, Captain Lono is here to give ya a sneak peak into the next full episode! BUT, the main focus of this Fresh Grave is our Lord and Savior, Joe Bob Briggs, and the upcoming Shudder...

Hello, It's the secretary here taking over the write up again. I'm not nearly as clever as my boss but here goes. In episode 8 I discuss The Fly (1986), Halley (2012) and Thanatomorphose (2012).  On the surface all three films involve a protagonist facing decomposition and deterioration. But these films are more than superficial body horror. They are all faced at one point with loneliness and an e...

To honor the 50-year anniversary of the "event" that gave birth to the greatest horror film of all-time, Uncle Lono has thrown all 9 movies from the franchise into a crock pot, and slow-cooked them fuckers for this rushed, raw, and ragged dispatch! Here for yer listening pleasure, Lono awkwardly unleashes his thoughts on each entry! "Looks like I've fallen apart on ya, honey..." -LG  #WeBelongDead...
