Bald Move Pulp

This episode has big portal energy. We got the twist we were hoping for, but it leaves the question: which came first, the Vecna or the egg? We’re getting nervous about those wounds on one of our beloved characters. And we’re gearing up for Hopper’s next superhero-esque move.  Submit your thoughts for our wrap-up episode at strangerthings@baldmove.com. Hey there! Check out https://support.baldmove...

With the finale right around the corner, we’re hoping for some surprises. The characters are still in transit, but we feel like they’re building to something big with Eleven’s backstory. While waiting for her powers to return, we’re also anticipating the death of one of our favorite characters, and enjoying Murray and Joyce’s adventures. The Satanic Panic is causing the sweeping up of the members...

Ha! You thought Nina was a person? We totally didn’t. Nope, haha, we always knew. Speaking of never being confused, we’ve got some theories and predictions that we’re holding tight to. We’re witnessing the point of no return and an escape that could only happen in the 80s, nothing to do with Kurt Russell in New York though. And how many modems can you recognize just by the sound? I guarantee it’s...

The Vecna isn’t the only horrifying thing that you see this season. Shedding the skin of the fun, breezy Stranger Things that we started with a few years ago, this season is going down darker roads. We have to sit with these characters through more adult situations as they try to navigate these with kid solutions. And it is starting to seem that Hopper is likely evolving into a Steven McQueen-esqu...

Those icy blue eyes of the Vecna have us transfixed when the episode isn’t being a little clunky. The relationships in this show deliver in the teenage angst department. Jim can’t relate to the angst because he’s always been popular. But the real question to the duality of existence, can someone be both a monster and superhero? Is it a choice each of us have to make? Can one perspective exist with...

Someone take care of these kids! Eleven/Jane is being bullied and Will, easily the most traumatized child in Hawkins, is hurting and wants his friends back. We hope life is kind to this cinnamon roll of a person, but this is Hawkins. A.Ron is putting on Dustin’s thinking cap and has some theories to present. How is everyone with guilt or dark secrets going to be affected by Vecna? We’re dying to f...

Stranger Things is back with a moodier season and we’re here for it. Hawkins, Indiana is haunted and harassed once more by…STRANGE things (I couldn’t help myself). The kids are growing up and growing apart while finding their place in the world. And who is this monster for this season? Mind Flayer 2.0, some sort of Soul Reaper, someone who spent way too much time in the sun? We’re ready to find ou...

The Boys are back. After almost two years, we’re ready for the next season of blood, guts, and fun. Can Karl Urban hold up to his own high standards? We’re hopeful that he will and for many other things. We’ll be covering each episode with podcasts dropping Friday nights. Send in your (non-comic related) feedback to dhs@baldmove.com.  Join the Bald Move watch party at twitch.tv/baldmove and link y...

Top Gun: Mission Impossible does not disappoint. With some astounding face-stretching fighter jet stunts and a story with a good amount of heart, watching this movie is an exciting experience. Though at times formulaic, there are enough cool things going on to distract you from asking, “But does this really make sense?” too many times. Watch the era of the manned fighter jets come to a close in th...

Conspiracy theorists rejoice, we’re covering your favorite movie. Everyone else, we know it’s in your top ten, don’t deny it. It’s got everything: clues, conspiracy, and the most toned-down Nic Cage performance on record. With the breakneck speed plot points you don’t have time to ask, “Does this actually make sense?” It’s good fun for all ages, which you don’t see a lot of anymore, so props to th...

The magnetic containment unit experienced core meltdown, and the feedback is smoking. With the madness of this season it’s no surprise your feedback covers the gamut from bad borg face effects to the nonsensical character arc closures. What do we want in season three? A full cast reunion sharing a scene together. We don’t want Patrick Stewart to catch covid, but when else are we going to have the...

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is more Marvel fare and delivers exactly what you'd expect, but Sam Raimi is in full Raimi form with enough of a twist to keep it interesting. It's just too bad that it's co-protagonist is a MacGuffin. Join us for the podcast to hear our non-spoiler thoughts and what we think about the trailers for upcoming movies then, if you're a club member, stick aro...

Set phasers to mildly entertained. There were a few good moments sprinkled amongst the madness. Q and Picard’s relationship comes to a somewhat satisfying end with Picard now unshackled from his past decisions. The road getting here was rough, but was it worth the journey? And A.Ron has been cured of Jurati syndrome. Thank you for all the sympathy cards.  Picard Season 3 episode by episode coverag...

We’ve got hopes as high as the budget. HOTD caps their budget at a humble $20 million per episode. Meanwhile, Bezos goes full tilt funneling $500 million into The Rings of Power. For comparison, Peter Jackson made the LOTR trilogy with an average of $94 million per movie, modest by today’s high fantasy standards. Fans of fictitious languages, HOTD will have something to tickle your articulators. W...

“Don’t make me defend this show.” A.Ron five times during this episode.  We’re glad to see that elements of this show speak to some people. But when it’s not speaking to us, it’s confusing us. Don’t miss Picard: The Lost Episode, a dramatic reading from A.Ron of a fan spec script that explains this madness. Before you get too giddy about the next Star Trek shows, it’s the same creative team from P...

On this season finale of WHY IS MR. FEENY A CAR?! Jim Jones joins us to break down one of the best KNIGHT RIDER’s of all time, which introduces the villainous KARR! What does the world’s oldest millennial think of all this mess? What are A.Ron and Jay thinking of doing on the off season? The answers to these and many other questions await your listen! Got something to say? Send it in to knightride...

A.Ron is showing strong signs of Jurati-syndrome. And Picard is showing strong signs of “jumping the shark” syndrome. With the Borg rampage continuing and more battles being introduced into the show, Jim and A.Ron have a couple of useful suggestions. Who else wants to see these guys direct an episode of Picard? Though the show is a shadow of itself, we see a glimmer of hope for season three with t...

Listener beware, there be spoilers ahead. On this episode A.Ron is joined by the one and only Pete Peppers as they discuss all things Expanse. A.Ron's been itching for a fellow human to discuss the books with, any other hardcore fans out there? As avid readers and watchers of the books and TV series, A.Ron and Pete have plenty of in depth opinions for fans of The Expanse to digest. They highly rec...

Nic Cage is back! Not that he went anywhere. It’s more than just a Nic Cage highlights reel with family drama, action pieces, and actual funny moments that weren’t spoiled by the trailers. Not to mention an amazing performance from Pedro Pascal. If you enjoy the enigmatic being that is the legendary Nic Cage, or even if you don’t, it’s a fun movie. Hey there! “Highly illogical.”–Spock. OG Spock said it right.  Fans of Old Trek admired the show for its unique personality, but now Star Trek and all of its spinoffs have gone the way of the blockbuster. With uninspired action set pieces, unnecessary character trauma, and nonsensical behavior of Star Fleet Officers, we’re really missing Classic Trek. The intellectual heritage got blown away by the lens flar...

A.Ron thinks this is the dumbest episode of Knight Rider to date, but Jay’s loving this week’s Devon-centric action, as we find out he’s a rather deep old file after all. Devon winds up being the sole witness to the slaying of a journalist who knows too much, and finds himself on the wrong side of the law against a slew of crooked cops. Can Michael and KITT clear his name and bring down the corrup...

If we’re going to enjoy Picard this late into the season, we need to stop thinking about it. Join us as we attempt to answer the pressing questions such as “Is Soji programmed to be stupid?” Seven takes it to an eleven and Jurati is sipping battery juice in an episode that goes off the rails.  Send in your feedback to picard@baldmove.com. Hey there! Check out https://support.baldmove.com/ to find...

There’s so much feedback, the crystals that sealed the Magnetic Containment Bottle have burnt out. We were offered an explanation on why Borg-Jurati sings that Pat Benatar song, but do we accept it? And please Paramount, put subtitles on the screeners.  Set your frequencies to picard@baldmove.com and send in that feedback.  Hey there! Check out https://support.baldmove.com/ to find out how you can...

What has twice the T-Rex and three times more running time than the original movie? That’s right, it’s Lost World where life finds a way and Steven Spielberg finds a way to make an underwhelming sequel. But it’s not all bad CGI! Jim and A.Ron relive their favorite moments, and it’s no surprise many of them include the forever amazing Jeff Goldblum.  Thank you to Sheldon for commissioning another J...
