There are places to go and people to find - your people. It is worth working out where they are.

We now need to put the files where they can be found - on a podcast-hosting platform.

There are no rules, however, and we encourage you to incorporate music however you like. Feel free to get creative just be aware of the copyright issues. Mixing and Mastering can be considered as the next phase of editing. It is where multiple audio files are combined, and levels and other factors adjusted to blend the multi-track into a whole. The final step, Mastering, creates a single-track audio file ready to be shared as a podcast.

The best solution is to record well - rather than try to fix it later. There are solutions but we don't want to try to be audio engineers. We will demonstrate some of the possible ways to fix the most common problems.

Editing is for removing things that don't belong. There are two types of editing. Content and quality. And we use both our eyes and ears. There will be more detail in the lesson videos. We will learn what can stay because it adds to the message and what to remove because it is distracting.

Time to get real! Today we are approaching people to be guests on our podcasts. What would you like to know if you were receiving an invitation email?

Know how you will start and finish. Decide whether to introduce the guest and whether to do it live or add it in later. Start recording before you begin the interview proper - it causes less tension in both you and the guest. Give them space to say thank you at the end too.

Interviewing is a big topic and takes time to learn to do well. Another example of practice and more practice. Here are some thoughts to get you started.

We start and build. Invite guests who will say yes. Build your experience and your credibility as you move towards those dream guests further down the line.

There are things to be aware of when recording and using a microphone. We will cover this more as we go, but here is an overview.

How do you start your podcast in a way that people stay with you - both to the end of the episode and so that they keep coming back? Become their favourite. Give them something familiar. Give them something fresh. Be recognisable as you start. People then know they are in the right place.

Impostor syndrome is normal and means you are onto something. Learn to dance with the fear, and have fun as you create something of value that will be a gift to your listeners. Good now, better later.

You will decide which one to go with. In the workshop, we cover both and probably major more on doing an interview-style podcast. Even if you end up doing a host-on-mic podcast, practising interviews offers good learning.
