This film was done so beautifully for such a hard subject matter to discuss. Play Date was a film that I am glad I got to watch for HollyShorts, but so glad I was able to interview Amberlee Colson and Laura Campbell to dive deeper into the film. According to their website (playdate-film.com), the short film is about two estranged mothers reunite to make sense of their daughter's last play date...

This short film was part of HollyShorts this year. Depression is a hard subject for people to talk about, but it has become more and more open in discussions and people are becoming more and more aware. I really enjoyed chatting with Courtney Dixon about her documentary, it was done very well and takes a new approach to depression. I hope you can all check it out someday when it is available to st...

Madison Hatfield wrote, directed, and acted in this fun short film, which you need to watch as soon as it's available. I Could Dom is a sex comedy for people pleasers and was one of the best shorts I watched as part of HollyShorts. I am so glad the producers emailed me and sent me the film and we set up a fun interview. Be sure to follow Madison on Instagram to stay up to date at @madhat31 and...

So I was given the privilege of a press for Hollyshorts Film Festival again this year and got to watch so many amazing short films, plus I got to do some great interviews with those behind the films. "Bill" is a darkly comedic short film that explores themes of power, control, and societal expectations. The story follows a woman who, after years of enduring her sexist husband, takes matt...

I had a lot going on this summer, but I was able to record with 2 other ATX TV Members about this year's festival. It was great as always, but I will say that seeing everyone was what made it amazing. I think we all needed those nights on the Stephen F. Austin Bar balcony spending time together discussing the day, tv, and life. Hope you enjoy this recap, look into going next year, it's so...

I hope you are all watching Claim to Fame, if not you need to be (Wednesday nights on ABC at 8pm central, streaming on Hulu). If you are watching you will know my next guest, Danny, aka Nael Zayas. Danny is a very kind and funny guy, who played a great game this season. Side note, he needs to apply for The Traitors, I think he would do very well. We were actually chatting before the interview was...

You might know Zach Kornfeld from creating and starring in The Try Guys, he is also a best selling author, a podcast host, and more. This is a very powerful short film that takes a comedic look at a very heavy and very real topic. I look forward to seeing what else he directs, writes, and stars in. Director's Statement: The things you love are more important than the things that hurt you. So o...

Everyone has been so nice to talk to and the...

The Kingsman franchise is one of my favorites and not sure why it took so long for me to cover it on the podcast. It is currently streaming (according to IMDb.com) on abc.com, Apple TV+, fxnetworks.com, and MGM+. The first film in the franchise is The Secret Service and is about a spy organization that recruits a promising street kid into the agency's training program, while a global threat em...

In preparation H style with Deadpool 3 coming out, I recorded over Deadpool with a friend I made last year randomly in Austin, OHHH JAMES!!!! You may or may not know James, but you have more than likely seen him on TikTok or Instagram with his girlfriend Sam (samramsdell5), who has the biggest gape. James and I started chatting film and tv and built a friendship. For those few of you that haven&#3...

Another Day in America synopsis from IMBd:...

Welcome to season 8!!!! What better way to start the season than with a Matthew McConaughey film, and one I hadn't seen before. In present-day London, 12-year-old Quinn watches as his mother wakes an enormous fire-breathing beast from its centuries-long slumber. Twenty years later, much of the world has been scarred by the beast and its offspring. As a fire chief, Quinn (Christian Bale) is res...

I figured as a fun little game that we would play 20 Questions over films and television shows. Something different and new to break up the regular episodes and the games/quizzes I have done have always been popular. See how well you can do in guessing the 3 shows. 21 Questions Cocktail (mickyfinns.com): Ingredients .5 Part Lime Juice .5 Part Simple Syrup .75 Part Elderflower Liqueur 1.5 Parts Bra...

Cellphone is a new independent horror/mystery/drama releasing today on VOD. Be sure to look it up and check it out.
