In this class, Brian covers the definition of what worship is and why family worship should be a part of the Christian home. Scripture tells us to worship God in all we do - namely, reading God's Word, singing praise to him and to pray without ceasing. Incorporating these into family worship is one way that we obey God and build lasting faith in our homes and churches. 

“Church” is often used to refer to a building or a broad denominational structure. But at its core, the church is a people. Graciously, God reveals in His word how best to understand the nature of this people — His family, Christ’s body, the living temple of the Holy Spirit.

In this introduction class, we started by looking at how God created and ordered the family and gave its mission. Brian provides an overview of the current state of the family and some history on how we got to where we are today. Lastly, the biblical principles that build our framework for thinking about family were show in Genesis, Deuteronomy, Ephesians and 1 Timothy.

How do we even begin to wrap our minds around a study of the church? It helps to start with the basics. When we understand how dearly the church matters to God, we begin to see more clearly how much it should matter to us — as Christians, as Protestants, and yes, even as Baptists!
