Baptists have distinct beliefs about the nature of the church and how it ought to function accordingly. How then should Baptistic churches think about the authority, government, and leadership in the local church?

Consistency is key! If we confess that the Covenant of Grace forms and gathers a regenerate covenant people, then our practice of baptism and the Lord's Supper — the ordinances given to the church — must reflect that beautiful reality. 

Contrary to popular belief, the core element of Baptist identity is not a position on the mode and timing of baptism. It is a position on the nature of the church itself as Christ's new covenant people. This week we explore that position through its application in both regenerate church membership and church discipline.

In this second of two classes on Calvinism Pastor Luke covers the five points of Calvinism using the acrostic TULIP. He also shares some of the story behind how he became a Calvinist. 

Many think of Calvinism as merely defined by the acronym “TULIP” and some refer to it as the “Doctrines of Grace”. In today’s teaching, we will talk about how it is much more and helps us understand more of the character of God and His sovereignty. 

What happens when we get the relationship between law and Gospel wrong? In this class, pastor Matt Jantz looks at Legalism and Antinomianism and how both are false understandings of the relationship between law and Gospel. Furthermore, this class looks at how a right understanding of God’s grace and our union with Christ overcomes these pitfalls. 

Having established the Reformed consensus on covenants of works, redemption, and grace, we drill deep into the difference between Westminster's perspective on the covenantal substance of grace and that of the Reformed Baptists.

In this first of two classes on covenant theology, we examine the broad "eternal life" covenants that emerge from the pages of Scripture.  Along with a law-gospel distinction, getting these covenants right both protects and enhances our understanding of all that Christ accomplishes for us as our glorious Savior.
