I saw a quote by Oscar Wilde and thought I would comment on it.  This Quote:  Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live; it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. I thought I would do a simple episode since I have to make study guides tonight. But it is that there is overlap between teaching, parenting, and governing. Of course, there are many differences, too. You might not be a teacher, but you might be a parent... or a gov't official. 

Jesus Day again! Time is flying by... I must be getting old.  The world is very empirical in the way it proceeds. We are also caught up in it and live diligently for the seen. Let's live for the Unseen!

A couple of my kids just ended their Spring semester and I got a bit nostalgic. I went back and listened to one of my semester-ending lectures and represent it to you in Subjective Professor form. 

I was listening to Ron Paul's Liberty Report when they discussed a survey or poll which showed America's affinity for Peace. It was pretty amazing. Some thoughts on peace... again.

Trump is currently traveling the world and supposedly making trade deals for the benefit of Americans. Maybe. But I say... we don't really need him to do that. What we need is more freedom.

Most people who have studied World War 2 probably discussed Appeasement as a strategy to contain Hitler and prevent war. It failed. This sets up a rhetorical position one often hears today. But what might be an alternate perspective on the events leading to WW2? Some thoughts on Peace in the Middle East and the Catholic Pope.

The War of 1812, most have not heard of this war. Thankfully it was not long but unfortunately, it probably laid the groundwork for future wars.  There is an interesting revelation that comes with the negotiated end of the war, at the Treaty of Ghent.

Sunday is Jesus Day. And it's Mother's Day... which in Korean reckoning is Parent's Day.  The generalization is that children, no matter culture or context, want to please and give joy to their parents. The question is HOW. Happy Mother's/Parent's Day.

I attended a commencement today. One of my kids finished his undergraduate education. I thought about the expression "Follow your passion." Here are my thoughts on the matter.

I think it's about time that I did an episode on Christian Zionism. I haven't talked about it before because I am not a Zionist. But a lot of people are, and it seems to be driving policy here in the US. We should always be wary of superficial interpretations and labels.

After listening to the news of the day and the latest from my favorite podcasts, this verse from scripture popped into my head. Things have been hectic with the job search and final exams for the middle school... so I ripped a topic from the discussion I had in class today with my 8th graders. Can you just imagine their boredom... I mean... excitement from this discussion? The more one understands that there are multiple perspectives for most historical events, the more one realizes things have not changed so much here in...

My 6th Grade class just finished a unit on Feudalism, the social/governmental system during the Middle Ages of Europe. Of course, I had to set them straight about the life of the serf. I compared them to the average American Taxpayer. Hopefully, when their parents study with them, I won't get a complaint from them. hehe

Sunday, Jesus day, again. Time is flying by for me these days. Today, I discuss the challenge of the chief priests of the authority of Jesus. I begin by taking a look at the concept of authority and go from there. Blessings.

This episode talks about this radical/extreme take on economists, and what it can tell us about the Trump administration, today.

What is May Day (May 1st)? A day to celebrate Workers' Rights. Should we maintain this tradition from the communist portion of Europe, or should it be Victims of Communism Day? Or perhaps it should be Entrepreneurs' Day. hmm.

The meme of the Calhoun mouse experiment caught my eye today and what I thought were unique observations are the very things people are supposed to think when seeing this meme. Also, the expression which begins with "self-hating" gave me a flashback to my younger days when I didn't get along with other Koreans that well. Self-hating Korean is code for another ethnicity.

In Thucydides' "Justice, Power, and Human Nature" is the funeral speech of Pericles, a leader of Athens at the start of the Peloponnesian War against primarily Sparta. It's a very interesting speech and worth a look today. It is interesting also because of some of the news stories, aka Propaganda, of the day. 

Just wanted a standalone episode on my position regarding the military and foreign policy. The Pete Hegseth fallout is evidence that there's a war in the White House.

Sunday is Jesus Day on the channel. Today we are taking a look at Counseling others to Peace. We sure could use some of that. Peace.

President Ronald Reagan's words at a press conference in 1986. What's interesting is the context of those words which I highlight in this episode. He, of course, contradicts himself and also drops a foreign policy bomb which is a bit similar to current events.

I was listening to Dave Smith respond to some of his critics and realized I would NEVER be able to debate as he does primarily because I don't know as much as most people. So, I share my method which is tailored for people who are less informed than their "opponent."  This strategy can turn even a middle schooler into a force to be reckoned with. Just keep in mind that with great power...  

Nico Perrino of FIRE was Ron Paul's guest today on the Liberty Report, and he said, "Strong opinions held loosely" is a desirable attitude to have in the US. First on my feed on X was a livestream with Corey DeAngelis who I have talked about before on this podcast. He was discussing a Supreme Court case out of Maryland regarding the ability of parents to opt out of certain curriculum. It's a problem of diversity and choice. Next, I wanted to discuss how war is a scam and how this relates to diversity in education.
