My non-confrontational nature is irked nearly every time Trump opens his mouth., especially when he talks about the economy, trade, and war. In this episode I explain why it irks me so much and what I think would be a better way of addressing all the leaders of the world and the people who live on this tiny planet.

Talking about Syria with my 7th and 8th graders today made me think about Sun Tzu and his work "The Art of War". As far as I can tell, America is doing everything Sun Tzu explained as the way to lose and go bankrupt. It is pure arrogance on the part of America to think that they can ignore the lessons of the past and continue on this path of self-destruction.

Syria is in the news. There are MANY aspects to this story, I tried to cover some to illustrate how complex and dangerous this is. With so many different aspects what or who is behind all of this? And why can't we just trade??

Sunday is Jesus Day... my voice is back to where it sounded this past Monday, so please bear with me. I am happy because I am audible once again. My whole week was lived with a whisper for a voice. Believers are supposed to aspire to "achieve" the righteousness of God. Just how do we do that while avoiding all of the pitfalls of sinful emotion? Blessings and Peace.

WARNING! My voice is shot... it's like a hoarse whisper. So, I picked an easy short topic: Slavery is NOT the cheapest form of labor. Hopefully my voice will recover tomorrow.

So, God does not choose like people choose; he chose the weak of the world to be his people. What does this mean and what are the implications for us today, a world full of authoritarians? After a sick day, back in the recording chair to share my subjective thoughts on the Fall of MSNBC and its kind. The decline in viewership is interesting, there does not seem to be a good explanation for it other than "the election outcome." Anyway, it does re-highlight the victory of independent journalism.

Sunday, Jesus Day... and Thanksgiving Sunday. The apostle Paul exhorts believers to be thankful in all things. How believers swing that and live a life with minimal complaint and lots of thanks is the topic of the day. Peace and Blessings. May you days be full of thanksgiving always.

This episode is inspired by a short paragraph in my 6th Grade History textbook. It's about the prosperous Minoans from the island of Crete. It is a civilization which the modern world didn't know about till the late 1800s and early 1900s.  Studying and understanding how they created wealth is a great argument against war and violence.

So, Russia responded to the Ukrainian missile strike, and they did so emphatically. The west and Ukraine are escalating, and Russia is trying to show that this not a game. Irresponsible remarks are being made which would have been unthinkable to make 40 or 50 years ago. Oh, but the people who gave you Harris and Walz think it wise to give you a possible World War. Thanks, no thanks.

I like to listen to a variety of podcasts one of which is The Jimmy Dore Show. I generally like the things they say and the topics they discuss but Jimmy Dore and friends often try to champion the worker as if they can't help themselves. As a worker myself, I take exception to that implication. Are they correct in thinking that workers are vulnerable and need protection from their superiors... or...

Totally forgot to talk about Veteran's Day last week. But the missile attack into Russia today helped me to remember and so rectify that mistake. Some thoughts on the outgoing administration and it is similar to some generals who were upset that World War 1 was coming to an end.

People in the Biden administration desperately trying to get a war started so that Trump will have no choice but to continue it for at least a little while longer. May these warmongers get what's coming and get it good. I want to also read a couple of excerpts one from Thucydides and one from Eisenhower's Atoms for Peace speech.

Sunday is Jesus Day. Seeking the Kingdom first... what does that mean and what does it entail. How does one seek something which is incorporeal? Blessings to you today and this week.

Listening to some podcasts today, I thought of the idea of "American Exceptionalism." Where did it come from, what did it mean, and how do people use it today? Have we, as a country, lost our way; were we ever this way?! Some thoughts and still holding on to some hope for the near future.

Saw Vivek Ramaswamy repost a Glen Beck post about DOGE. The post reminded me of a tip from Machiavelli in his book The Prince.  If one has to use methods considered cruel, better to do it all at once at the beginning of one's term in office. Godspeed, Gentlemen.

It was a long day and some of my personal subjectivity leaked.  I am anti-killing... which makes the policies and plans surrounding Israel so unintelligible. I am hoping that Trump's picks are going to see the light and realize that war is the worst possible course of action to take. What's so funny about Peace, Love, and Understanding??

So, the news today on the picks for the new Trump administration is not that good, depressing really. But hope springs eternal in the Subjective Professor's mind. :) On that tack, I thought I would share a story that always makes me smile, how I got booted from the Honors Program Faculty.

As we wait for Trump's picks for his cabinet and administration, I thought I would talk about the "typical" Trump voter in contrast to the "typical" Kamala voter. Hope it entertains.
