There's Always Something to Do - EP 226 19.09.2025 4:43
In this episode, I riff on a line from Dead Poets Society that's shaped how I live and lead: "suck the marrow out of life." A young entrepreneur told me his business was so dialed that there was "nothing left to do." My response? If you think there's nothing to do, you've already checked out. That's not leadership that's sedation. You didn't build a company; you built a beach house with nobody in...
My Takes & Tweaks on the 2025 Top Ten Business Books - EP 225 (PT. 1) 17.09.2025 1:16:27
In this episode, Amanda and I kick off part one of our two-part series on the Top 10 Business Books of 2025 . We're unpacking numbers 10 through 6 on the New York Times list and digging into what's worth keeping, what we'd tweak, and what to toss. From Adam Grant's Hidden Potential to Will Guidara's Unreasonable Hospitality , we talk about the real takeaways that matter when you're building and le...
Own Your Cheeks - EP 224 12.09.2025 7:50
In this episode, I share a story from my college days when I was hustling to make ends meet and wound up modeling nude for the art department. One day, I walked past the campus art museum and saw a life-sized painting of myself—ass cheeks and all—displayed right in the front window. People pointed, some laughed, but I didn't flinch. I owned it. That moment taught me a lesson I carry into business...
From Operator to Architect - EP 223 10.09.2025 56:38
In this episode, Amanda and I dig into the mental hangups that keep entrepreneurs stuck working in the business instead of working on it. We start with the big one: fear of losing cash flow. I share how I used to hoard profits, dabble in outside investments, and then realized the smartest move was reinvesting back into the machine I was building. We talk practicals—hiring as an investment with ROI...
Dads (And CEOs) Need FAFO Swagger - EP 222 05.09.2025 5:08
In this episode, I'm talking about Dad swagger—the real kind, not the fake-it-till-you-make-it kind. I break down why posture, presence, and awareness matter more than you think, both in life and in leadership. Research proves it: predators don't go after the strongest-looking person, they go after the distracted, the unsure, the weak. And when a father walks tall, makes eye contact, and leads wit...
How to Trend-Proof Your Business - EP 221 03.09.2025 51:38
In this episode, Amanda and I dive into how to trend-proof your business. We start with why chasing virality is a hollow strategy and why momentum can mask mediocrity. Instead of jumping on every shiny tactic, I break down a simple filter I use: does it fit our core values, and does it fit our pillars? If not, it's a no. We talk through real examples of brands that drifted from who they are—and pa...
IS IT TIME TO BURN IT DOWN? - EP 220 29.08.2025 5:09
In this episode, I'm talking about something most people are too scared to say out loud—sometimes the smartest thing you can do for your business is burn it down. Not in a tantrum, not in rage, but with strategic demolition. I share the story of the Great Chicago Fire and how, instead of trying to patch things up, the leaders leveled the city and rebuilt it with vision. Out of the ashes came skysc...
Starting Up and Starting Over - EP 219 27.08.2025 1:16:38
In this episode, Amanda and I dive into the realities of starting up and starting over—why reinvention is a non-negotiable part of growth, both in life and in business. We kick things off with the recent Astronomer CEO scandal and how, staged or not, it's a case study in how fast the spotlight can change the trajectory of a company. From there, we move into the lessons entrepreneurs need when the...
Kings Never Win Alone - EP 218 22.08.2025 3:43
In this episode, I break down why business is more like chess than checkers. Too many entrepreneurs make the mistake of thinking they need to do everything on their own, wearing the crown of CEO while isolating themselves from their team. But the truth is, no one wins alone. In chess, it's not just about the king—it's about the pieces around you. Every piece, from the pawns to the knights, has a r...
The Retreat Forward Strategy - EP 217 20.08.2025 45:59
In this episode, Amanda and I dig into a concept most entrepreneurs avoid—the retreat forward strategy. It's the uncomfortable truth that sometimes the smartest move you can make is to pull back, regroup, and reset before you charge ahead. I share how this played out when we were starting Genesis Lifestyle Medicine, including why I left our Palm Springs home and downsized to save capital for the b...
"Don't Say 'I'm Not Good at That'—Say This Instead" - EP 216 08.08.2025 4:17
In this episode, I share a conversation I had with a sharp, high-potential business colleague who kept getting stuck in the weeds. His reasoning? "I'm just not good at that, so I should delegate it." On the surface, that sounds like self-awareness—but I told him straight up, that's low-level thinking. Leadership isn't about avoiding what you're bad at; it's about making decisions through the lens...
Lessons From Krypton - EP 215 06.08.2025 1:14:28
In this episode, I opened up about two powerful themes that have shaped my life: taking ownership and choosing to live with purpose. We start with a cautionary tale—how a simple oversight with my Lamborghini turned into an $11,000 mistake—and how the real issue wasn't the damage, but the lack of accountability. When you're working with high-level people, honesty matters more than perfection. I bre...
Someone With Less Is Doing More (So No Excuses) - EP 214 01.08.2025 3:54
In today's episode, I'm not here to sugarcoat it—I'm here to talk about attitude. Not the snarky kind you throw around when things go sideways, but the deep, quiet kind that seeps into your mindset when life feels unfair. I've had those moments—when everything feels heavy, progress feels impossible, and I want to give up. But I've come to realize something: someone out there, with far fewer resour...
The Law Of Reciprocity In Business And Life - EP 213 30.07.2025 55:11
In this episode of the Spinoso Podcast, I dive deep into the Law of Reciprocity—what it is, how it shows up in life and business, and the mindset shifts required to keep your heart open even when the world doesn't always give back. I share stories from my own entrepreneurial journey, how I've been burned, how I've given too much, and how I've learned to keep giving anyway—without expecting anythin...
Keep Your Word: The Foundation Of Trust & Confidence - EP 212 25.07.2025 4:15
This week, I want to talk about a simple but powerful reminder I saw in an Instagram post from my buddy Jacob. He said, "If you want to work with elite people and be their go-to, it's not that complicated—just do what you say you're going to do." And he's absolutely right. When you say you'll deliver something by Friday at 1 PM, deliver it by Friday at 1 PM. Not later. Not the next morning. Elite...
Benefits Of Kids For Entrepreneurs - EP 211 23.07.2025 1:20:04
In this episode, Amanda and I dive into the unexpected ways that parenting shapes leadership. From toddler meltdowns to team dynamics, we've realized how much raising kids mirrors building and managing a business. Whether it's communicating clearly, creating structure, or learning how to stay patient while being pulled in ten directions, kids have a way of teaching you what kind of leader you real...
Lessons In Honesty From A Fried Lambo - EP 210 18.07.2025 6:46
Today, I'm sharing a story about my brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto and how a small mistake turned into a massive lesson in trust, leadership, and communication. I took the car to a trusted shop for some paint protection film, and while it sat there, the battery died. No big deal, right? But instead of calling me or Lamborghini, they tried to fix it themselves… and jumped it using the wrong port. W...
The Dark Side Of Ambition (PART 2) - EP 209 16.07.2025 24:32
Ambition is essential if you want to build something that lasts. It's what drives legacy, growth, and impact—but if you're not careful, it can also destroy your health, relationships, and identity. In this episode, we're talking about the double-edged sword of ambition. We're pulling back the curtain on what happens when you let the hustle take over your life, and sharing real stories about burnou...
The Lamborghini Lesson - EP 208 11.07.2025 4:04
As a kid, I was obsessed with cars, monster trucks, hot rods, supercars, all of it. I told my dad I wanted to be a mechanic one day, and he gave me a perspective I never forgot. He told me there was honor in that path, real, honest work—but then he asked me something that changed everything: "Do you want cars to be your livelihood… or your hobby?" That question shifted my entire trajectory. Fast f...
The Dark Side of Ambition -EP 207 09.07.2025 39:49
In this episode, we're pulling back the curtain on something that doesn't make the highlight reel: the dark side of ambition. Ambition is often praised and glorified; it drives success, fuels late nights, and builds empires. But what people don't talk about is the cost. That relentless drive can leave you physically wrecked, emotionally burned out, and disconnected from the very people you're buil...
Caring: The Curse and The Key - EP 206 04.07.2025 6:07
One of the biggest mental blocks I see in entrepreneurs, especially early on, is around pricing. We hesitate to charge what we're really worth, not because the market won't bear it, but because we're still thinking like our old selves. I've been there too. Most of us come from backgrounds where money was tight, and when it comes time to price our services, we imagine what we could've afforded year...
Leadership Sucks Sometimes: 5 Truths You Just Have To Accept - EP 204 02.07.2025 54:46
Today, we're diving deep into the realities of leadership, what it looks like behind the curtain, after the motivational quotes and Instagram highlights. Before we get into it, I share a quick story about planning a birthday party for my one-year-old that went from low-key to full-on Project X with mechanical bulls, robot dancers, and mariachi bands. It's a hilarious reminder that sometimes, leade...
Business Isn't Garden of Eden - EP 203 27.06.2025 5:08
People love to romanticize business as if it were some perfect little paradise. Plant the right seeds, post some motivational quotes, hang a nice sign, and boom, it's supposed to flourish. But I'm here to tell you, that's a lie. Your business is not the Garden of Eden. It's not self-sustaining, peaceful, or picturesque. It's more like farming in a war zone, unpredictable, hostile, and grueling....
Vulnerability and Leadership - EP 203 25.06.2025 56:15
Today's episode is a deep dive into a topic that's often misunderstood in leadership— vulnerability . Not the kind where you're crying on camera for likes or sharing every trauma you've ever had on Instagram, but the kind that builds trust, inspires your team, and keeps your business moving forward. I share why emotional oversharing isn't the same as being vulnerable, and how real leadership is ab...
When Money Doesn't Motivate - EP 202 20.06.2025 5:10
In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain. I've built the businesses, hit the numbers, bought the cars, the house, the watch—and I'm on pace for eight figures in personal income. But here's the part no one tells you: sometimes I wake up and feel nothing. Not because I don't love the game, but because once you've "made it," the hunger changes. You're not chasing anymore—you're maintaining. And...
