Spoil Me

It's time to say goodbye to this series, and I am pleasantly surprised at how complete this ending feels to me. A lot happens very quickly, but that's not an inherently bad thing, and we get a romantic happy ending despite the tragedy of preceding chapters. And also a glimmer of hope for the overall planet these people live on. I hope you enjoyed to coverage, and maybe I will see you again soon wi...

Thank you very much to Andy for commissioning this episode! This is the last episode of Cradle coverage for the foreseeable future and I talk about theories, the fandom, answer questions, and generally grieve the fact that I'm caught up like all you suckers. :P Thanks again for listening, and I will see you again!eventually!

Thank you very much to Yama for commissioning this episode! Okay so fair warning to you all, this episode is a MESS. It has been months since the previous episode of Dark and this isn't a show you can just jump in and out of, and I'm out here on camera forgetting names, forgetting plot threads, forgetting my own goddamn purpose in life. Please be kind and patient with me! Nevertheless, I hope you...

Thank you very much to Rachel for commissioning this episode! In this episode, Veronica breaks up with Logan in what feels like a pretty final way, although the fact that he's still playing a prominent role in the show makes me think we're not done with him yet. The case of the week is about a young woman who fell pregnant and was drugged by someone who didn't want her to carry the baby to term, a...

Thank you very much to Martin for commissioning this episode! It's the penultimate episode of Holy Sister, in which we begin to find out how many things that seemed coincidental were actually orchestrated by Abbess Glass. It's a much bigger plan than I had even anticipated, and there's clearly even more to be revealed. FYI I love jealous Nona and her having to tell her devils to STFU. Thanks for l...

Thank you very much to Martin for commissioning this episode! I'm almost at the end of this series and I honestly can't believe it. I feel like we're ramping up so hard right now that I can't imagine two more episodes of coverage will be enough to wrap it up. Damn, where are we headed after this? This section is when we see Sister Pan sacrifice herself in a final blaze of glory and power, and we f...

Thank you very much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! Welp, we've reached the end of the book and I feel comfortable being hard on it at this point since there remain no opportunities for improvement. It's a shame, since there were so many points where things could have gotten really interesting and very nearly did, but this series really gave off the impression of a writer who is kind o...

Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! WELP, this is the episode where I pretty much decide that this is a bad book. Thankfully, Ashleigh and I seem to be on the same page with this assessment, and I don't feel as bad about it since she hadn't read it before commissioning it. I don't regret reading it at all, because it's full of interesting ideas with lots of potential, but this au...

Thank you to Kyle for commissioning this episode! I'm very surprised to be reentering this world again, but even though it's been a while I'm still able to follow most of what was going on. An incredibly good-looking prince is going to fully fund a lavish spectacle dedicated to his own stories of heroism, ostensibly to prep the people for his upcoming coronation. However, I think there's something...

Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, Lorkin finally comes clean about the slave girl and what happened to her while he was imprisoned, and while it turns out that the girl wasn't a Traitor (or so they think though they can't be sure) they are very compassionate with him. I actually really rather liked that scene. Meanwhile, things are beginning to ramp up with D...

Thank you to Martin for commissioning this episode! This section of chapters we get a pretty brutal showdown with Yisht and Zole, and I for one did think for a moment that Zole had actually died. Turns out that she's okay and manages to basically rescue Nona from these caves, but if we know now that she's not dead...why isn't she at the convent? Where did she go? Also, the battle is coming to the...

Thank you very much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, we get a little more of the revolution in Sachaka as it ramps up enough to be noticed by the Achati, and I really hope they're prepared for the backlash because I want them to succeed! I don't think this is the kind of book where they'd fail after all this time, but she could be prepping another series, who knows. A...

Thank you very much to Agnes for commissioning this episode! This was a really strange one because it sort of went back and forth on the way it wanted to not only depict sex workers, but also in the way it wanted Veronica to react to sex workers. This could certainly have been worse, so in some ways I was pleasantly surprised, but then there were moments when Veronica would say something that boil...

Thank you very much to Martin for commissioning this episode! These chapters are the ones in which the girls get together to try to steal a banned book from what amounts to the National Archive, and it's actually really fucking nerve wracking! Thanks so much for listening, and I will be seeing you soon with a new episode!

Thank you so much to Jaime for commissioning this episode! Y'all I am totally hooked on this show and I'm really agitated that the next episode isn't going to be until January. Goddammit.

Thank you again so much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, the Traitors and Kyralia fail to come to a deal that would involve the Kyralians aiding the Traitors in attacking the Sachakans, and the Traitors say "Fuck it" and just go ahead and do it anyway because that seems like a damn good attittude to have regarding ending slavery. I'm delighted to see how much support...

Thank you very much to Devin for commissioning this episode! The endings of these damn books have made me cry almost every time, and this is no exception. Goddammit, Diane. Thanks for listening, and I might see you with some more episodes in a few months!

Thank you so much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! I am really surprised by the massive twist in these chapters, which is when Sonea goes out into the wasteland and finds a bunch of small magical stones planted in different areas to keep the land from ever being fertile again. While a part of me wants Sonea to be right about who planted them because that's a total baller move, I'm also...

Thank you so much to Paul for commissioning this episode! Wow, so this was a helluva first episode. I'm so glad that I didn't watch this show on my own because I'm really excited to officially cover it, but also I'm really mad that I can't binge it because I am fucking HOOKED, kids. DO YOU HEAR ME? I have so many thoughts and I don't really cover this chronologically so I hope you're ready for som...

Thank to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! Whew, so these chapters are getting spicy now, kids! We find out that Lorkin doesn't even know why he was let out of prison, and he winds up being the target of yet another undercover agent disguised as a slave. He gets saved by a Traitor YET AGAIN (you owe them a lot, Lorkin) and finally gets smuggled out of the Guild House by Ashaki Achati. Meanw...

Thank you Martin for commissioning this episode! I know that this was hinted at in the last section, but somehow I missed the fact that there's a new Abbess in town and I'm SHOOK, children. Do you hear me? I HATE IT. There's so much that happens here that I should really be focusing on, but I can't get past that. I'm OUT. See you again soon!

Thank you to Martin for commissioning this episode! I can't believe we're in the last leg of this series! It doesn't feel like we could possibly be at the end of this enormous story already, because there are still so many moving pieces and unknown factors. Are there more books set in this universe? In this section, we do some jumping back and forth in time, starting right where we left off in the...

Thank you very much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! So in the last set of chapters, Lorkin is subjected to second-hand physical torture, in that he's forced to watch while an innocent woman is tortured. In this set of chapters, we find out that they are likely putting him in a situation where he can heal her and then they can just torture her again, which is brutal. In the end, she beg...

Thank you very much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! So in these chapters we find out who Sonea's assistant is going to be, and it turns out it's Regin which I feel is obvious in retrospect and YET! Also, there's a pretty intense scene with Lorkin being questioned and I'm not a fan of it, ladies and gentlemen. Not a fan at all. Also, Cery & Co. are breaking into the Guild to steal cloth...

Thank you very much to Michael for commissioning this episode! We're still dealing with the aftermath of the virus being released into the wild, and shit has gotten pretty bad pretty fast. Jenny, who is partially responsible for the whole fucking thing, has the unmitigated gall to act put-upon that she has to actually live through her own death, and even when she's replaced in her head by someone...
