Today, I sit down with several 14 and 15-year-old girls who ask the question: What event has changed your life? The conversation goes toward abuse and how it shapes our lives. It looks like in most ways, we all want the same things.

The covert narcissist is deadly. They are impulsive, remorseless, reckless, and devoid of emathay or mercy. Imagine what you could accomplish if you  conscience, morals, religious beliefs and sense of decency and integrity didn't stop you. So what's stopping the narcissist? Nothing. The person with NPD has a brain that is so damaged and dysregulated that he/she cannot function like a neurotypical person with a healthy brain. These brain irregularities prevent them from leading a normal life and having healthy long-term relationships. For the person recovering from a relationship with a malignant narcissist, accepting their mental limitations is an important step to healing.
