Jesus said the mark of a genuine Christian community should be their love for one another. So, what's your church experience been like? Loving?

As you read the Bible, it often refers to your "heart" to describe the inner you. It's not referring to your physical heart that pumps blood through your body. Rather, it's a way of referring to your soul. In this passage we see that there is a link between the condition of your spiritual heart and whether or not you believe in Jesus. So, how's your heart?

Jesus did not cling to His Heavenly position and privileges but gave them up to come to earth to die for the sins of all who would believe in Him. And He says to His disciples, "follow me." Die to selfishness and pride and come to experience the life that only a relationship with Jesus can give.

Often when we talk about unity at church, it is in relation to unity between churches. But what about unity within our own church family? Pastor Anthony Sligar looks at the importance of unity and practical ways that we can maintain it within our fellowship.

For good reason, we often focus our attention on the death of Jesus, and what that accomplished. However, the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday is God's declaration that Jesus was not just another crucified trouble-maker, but the Saviour He claimed to be. The resurrection of Jesus - it changes everything!

Why did Jesus ride a little donkey into Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday? Because He came to conquer sin & death, not Romans. He came to give His life for all who would believe in Him.

Do you give much thought to death? Does it concern you? If you are a believer in Jesus, then death is not something we need to fear or dread. Jesus gave His life so that all who believe in Him need not fear death, but instead, look forward to eternal life!

The death of Jesus Christ as an atonement for sinners is at the heart of the Christian Gospel. Christ's death means redemption for all who believe in Him. One righteous life given that many unrighteous might be saved. Hallelujah, what a Saviour!

It's likely you've had an "If only..." moment, where you prayed a desperate prayer to God, but nothing happened, and you think, "If only God had turned up and done what I prayed for." This was Martha & Mary's experience, but Jesus showed them these things happen for God's glory not ours.

The end of John's Gospel records the restoration of Peter, following his denial of Jesus the night before He died. But it was more than forgiveness - it was an engagement to persevere in following Jesus to accomplish what he had been called to do.

Is it possible to become a Christian and then lose your salvation? This passage from John 10 speaks directly to this issue, and should be immensely encouraging to all believers.

This is the final sermon in the Goals For Growth series, and so we head home - and look at ways we can grow in our households. Whether that means a couple, a family, a group of single friends or by yourself. God want to use those we live with, or that we invite into our homes, as a means of drawing us closer to Himself.

A relationship with Jesus not only means eternal salvation, it also means you can live a transformed life. This transformation is often described as "Christian growth" - becoming more like Christ and less like your old sinful nature. It means moving beyond the superficial to a deeper walk with your Saviour!

The Gospel has an extraordinary effect in the life of a believer. Because your faith is in the person and work of Jesus, you are totally freed from the concept of having to earn God's favour, and, instead, are freed to apply the teachings of Jesus and live a transformed life!

Sometimes we let the word "believer" roll off our tongue fairly easily, as it takes on the status of a noun rather than a verb. Jesus said belief is the key, not only to realising salvation, but in living out our new identity in Christ every day.

When the lights go out and we're left in the dark it is totally disorienting and we can easily be hurt by running into things we cannot see. Jesus says this is what life is like without Him. He is the Light that allows us to see all things clearly - He is the Light that leads to life!

Our picture of Jesus is often confined to what we read in the Gospels - humbly wearing a tunic & sandals, walking around Judea and Galilee, speaking & performing miracles. But what about Jesus now? Where is He and what is He doing? And more importantly, how does He help us live now in a world so often hostile to Christianity?

When Jesus said "Come to Me and drink," He didn't mean come for a one-off sip of "living water." Instead, He fulfills the Old Testament prophecies and becomes the source of living water that fills believers and overflows to others. That is the effect of the Holy Spirit in our lives, if we allow Him to do a work of change in us.

Putting off making a decision about Jesus is a huge risk, because time is short. Fact is, we don't know how much time we have ahead of us. So, thinking that we'll get serious about faith in Jesus "one day"may prove eternally costly.
