Disciples Church Springfield

Disciples Church Sermons

Disciples Church Springfield is an independent, evangelical church, keen to impact the greater Springfield area with the grace of the Gospel. Our Lead Pastor is Callum Mansfield. Our vision is that every member of the Church will know Jesus enough to follow Him, love God enough to obey Him, love people enough to serve them, trust the Father enough to risk everything to advance His kingdom, and trust the Holy Spirit enough to let Him change them and use them for His glory. Adopted by the Spirit 18.10.2026

How do we know we truly belong to God? In Romans 8, Paul reminds us that the Holy Spirit brings us out of fear and into the confidence of being God’s children. This week, we explore how the Spirit assures us of our place in the Father’s family, teaches us to cry “Abba, Father,” and helps us live with the hope of all He has promised. You’re not an outsider - you’re His child.

Born again 11.10.2026

This Sunday we explore what it means to be born again by the Spirit - not improved, inspired or made more religious, but given an entirely new life. Jesus says the Christian life begins with a miracle only the Spirit can perform - making what was spiritually dead come alive.

Who is the Spirit 04.10.2026

What if the Christian life was never meant to be lived by trying harder, but by learning to live with the personal and empowering presence of God Himself dwelling within us? This Sunday we begin our BY THE SPIRIT series as we open Romans 8 and discover the key not just to knowing about God, but to actually experiencing His presence and power in our lives.

Psalm 70 27.09.2026

When you’re in trouble, who do you turn to? For most of us, it’s usually our parents or maybe a sibling or good friend. But we can also turn to God. If we are convinced of His greatness, His kindness and mercy, then we will readily see Him not just as Saviour, but friend and helper.

Psalm 145 20.09.2026

As we move into the V-max cinema there is much to give thanks and praise to God for. But our praise should extend beyond more, better seats and a bigger screen. The almighty God of the universe has literally moved Heaven and Earth in order to have an eternal relationship with us. When we soberly consider who He is, and everything He has done for us, the only appropriate response is... praise!

Do not grow weary 13.09.2026

In the final chapter of our The Heart of Care series we see how Paul wraps up his letters to the Thessalonians by reminding them of the faithfulness and the steadfastness of Christ.

When care gets practical 23.08.2026

This Sunday, we make it to the end of 1 Thessalonians as we see what happens when care gets practical. Paul’s final instructions give us a picture of the gospel in motion - a Spirit-filled community where we honour our leaders, care wisely for one another, pursue what is good, and live with joy, prayer and gratitude before God.

In the face of death 16.08.2026
Standing fast together 02.08.2026

Last week, we saw the call to share our lives together - but what about when life is messy or difficult? In 1 Thessalonians 3, we see that gospel-shaped care draws near in those moments which leads to a courage and strength that helps us stand fast in the Lord together.

Sharing our lives 26.07.2026

This Sunday in our HEART OF CARE series, we turn to 1 Thessalonians 2 to see that Christian care is far more than kind words or practical help - it is sharing our very lives with one another. As Paul points us to the self-giving love of Christ, we'll discover that genuine care always costs us something, but it's also one of the primary ways God grows His people together.

Loved by God 19.07.2026

This Sunday in our HEART OF CARE series, we turn to 1 Thessalonians 2 to see that Christian care is far more than kind words or practical help—it is sharing our very lives with one another. As Paul points us to the self-giving love of Christ, we'll discover that genuine care always costs us something, but it's also one of the primary ways God grows His people together.

Psalm 95 12.07.2026

This Sunday we are opening Psalm 95 and hearing its call to come before the Lord with joyful praise, humble worship, and soft hearts. It reminds us that true worship is more than singing songs - it is gladly listening to God’s voice and trusting him today.

Psalm 77 05.07.2026
Psalm 18 28.06.2026
Psalm 50 21.06.2026

Following Jesus is more about a relationship than rule-following. God isn’t into religion that boasts self-righteous performance while neglecting the needs of others. What he really wants is to be in fellowship with his creation. Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, provides the bridge between heaven and earth to restore us back to a loving relationship with God. He wants our hearts transfo...

REVIEW: Clothed for the battle 14.06.2026

This Sunday, we continue thinking about the spiritual battle by turning to Ephesians 6:10–20 and the armour of God. Because Jesus has already won our freedom, we are not called to fight in fear, but to stand firm in his strength, equipped for the battle before us.

The Nephilim (Gen 6:3-4) 07.06.2026

This Sunday, Genesis 6 pulls back the curtain on counterfeit power as spiritual rebellion and human ambition joined together in a world desperate to be as mighty as the 'Nephilim". But Jesus defeats the powers not by becoming monstrous, but through the cross, disarming darkness and giving his Spirit to ordinary people.

Sons of God (Gen 6:1-2) 31.05.2026

This Sunday, we move into Genesis 6 where the boundary between heaven and earth is crossed, and corruption and chaos spread through the world. But this strange and confronting passage points us to the greater Son of God, who came down not to seize, but to save - defeating the spiritual powers and bringing us home to the Father.

Noah (Gen 5:24-32) 24.05.2026

Why when we stop, are we still restless? This week in our final Genesis 5 sermon, we see that Noah points restless people to the deeper rest of God’s presence, and Jesus gives that rest by finishing the curse’s power and filling us with his Spirit.

REVIEW: Walking with Jesus 17.05.2026

This Sunday, we’re pressing into what it actually looks like to walk with Jesus today. Together, we’ll explore how the New Testament describes discipleship as a Spirit-empowered “walkabout” with Christ - learning what it means to follow him daily by faith, draw near to him, and become more like him.

Enoch (Gen 5:5-24) 10.05.2026

This Sunday, we meet Enoch - a man who walked with God and then did not die, because God took him to be with himself. In a genealogy where death keeps interrupting every generation, Enoch shows us that walking with God leads to life - and points us to Jesus, who has conquered death and brings us home to God.

Genealogies (Gen 5:1-4) 03.05.2026

Genesis 5 isn’t just a list of names - it’s a family line of promise. While Cain’s line shows the spread of sin and death, this genealogy shows who belongs to God’s blessing. The world asks for your résumé, but God asks whose family you belong to - and in Jesus, that changes everything.

Thinking Generationally (Gen 5:1a) 26.04.2026

This Sunday, we begin to walk through Genesis 5 where we see that gospel frees us from living small, immediate, self-contained lives. How? Because in Jesus our story is caught up into God’s much bigger story - and when you see him for who he is, you can’t help but live with a generational perspective.

Arise my soul 19.04.2026

This Sunday, we step into  Acts 2:14–41  as Peter proclaims the risen Jesus - and hearts are cut to the core as the call to repent and rise to new life goes out. As the last sermon in our ARISE series, we’ll see how the resurrection doesn’t just wake a crowd, but awakens the soul.

Filled with the Spirit 12.04.2026

This Sunday, in our ARISE series, we move from resurrection to outpouring as we see the Spirit of God bring new life and bold witness in Acts 2:1–13. Come and discover how the same Spirit who raised Jesus now fills His people—turning fear into fire and silence into proclamation.
