Teens are becoming adults, but they aren’t there yet. We want to help them. We see in young people the potential that’s there, but there’s a gap between who they are now and who they want to be. They don’t see that gap for the most part. It’s not just a teen gap either. We all have a gap between who we are and who we want to be. None of us are finished products. So what’s in that gap?

The power of one-on-one moments. We are big advocates of small groups, but there are moments that are even more personal. We need to leverage those moments. Some one-on-one moments happen naturally. Others you create. They are all important. As much as you try to personalize the group and use everyone’s name and remember things about each teen, it’s these one-on-one moments that they will remember...
