On Tuesday August 12, I attended the Town Council meeting where Allan Kindrat presented our petition and attempted to persuade council to reconsider setting up public consultation on an east-west spine in downtown Smithers.

We’re going to speak with another Allan, Allan Cormier, the president of the Cycle 16 Trail, for his perspective on our being awarded the PIBC Award of Excellence in Planning. We'll also talk about what happens next with that trail.  Because, have you noticed? Construction has begun! Hooray!

As you may already know, in March Town Council decided not to pursue a key part of the Smithers Active Transportation Plan. The original intent was to offer public engagement opportunities on an East - West corridor, on Third Avenue.

For our final episode, I’m excited to be speaking with Glen Ingram, founder and manager of our beloved community radio station, CICK 93.9 FM in Smithers, BC. Glen and a group of tech wizards designed and built a little piece of magic called the Pedal Powered Party Machine, or the P3M.

Bicycle world is a public group on cycling, people who love cycling and bicycles, bikes, bike packing and bicycle camping, bike commuting, cargo bikes, trikes, velomobiles and those who want to learn bicycle mechanics. This group currently has 30,000 members.
