Wonder Man on Disney Plus, a “Marvel Spotlight,” is a character driven show that centers around one struggling actor Simon Williams, and our favorite character actor (the Mandarin himself) Trevor Slattery. Simon has a secret and so does Trevor. They both are vying for roles in the same movies and places in each others hearts. This is a tremendously acted, solidly written show that was seemingly du...

Would you believe me if I told you there would be a Game of Thrones spinoff that was equal parts comedy, fish out of water, and a lone wolf and cub story combined? Of course you would think I was a liar, but I’m not. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is a surprisingly funny, positive, and non-cynical look into the world that we’ve grown accustomed to being lewd, lascivious, and full...

Stranger Things has finished (for now) and the gang has thoughts about Vecna and the Mindflayer, 11 pulling a Pa Kent from Man of Steel, noticeable absences of certain characters, the time jump, the reveal of the Einstein-Rosen Bridge, and much more! There are some clear winners and not so clear disappointments that we really wanted to love. Tell us in the comments what your favorite and worst watches for 2025! Please! S...

Rian Johnson is back on Netflix with Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery and this starts off as a bit of a mystery in comparison to the prior iterations of this franchise. This star-studded cast includes Jeffrey Wright, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Thomas Haden Church, and of course Daniel Craig, to name a few. This mystery centers around a Catholic Church in a small town, where a young, but troub...

In the season one finale, Manousos and Carol do the most expected thing in their first in-person meeting: hate each other. The hive is dong an effective job keeping Carol busy, as they find new ways to propagate the RNA into the remaining 12. Manousos proves to be an agent of chaos, with a purpose and is not understanding why Carol is choosing the girl over the world. If you started watching The U...

The Hive is trying to butter up Carol with some booty, while Carol is trying to individuate Zosia to the point of having her believe in her own personhood. Meanwhile, Manousos still doesn’t want any help, as his trek to meet Carol in person draws closer. This was the penultimate episode of this highly intriguing and entertaining Apple TV+ series. Keeping the end of the episode in mind, who current...

The gap between Carol and Manousos closes in distance, but widens in ideology as these two want the same thing and are going about it in drastically different ways. Carol is starting to feel the effects of prolonged isolation, while Manousos is rejecting the notion that the hive provides and still managing to utilize his time wisely. Please! What happens in Vegas, well, the hive knows. Carol is reeling after we see what she discovers in cold storage, while Diabaté is living the life he always wanted. The main takeaway from this episode is clearly you get so much more out of life (people, too) when you kind. Carol still is struggling with this, as cynicism and skepticism are melded with the privilege she once had. Manousos down in Para...

The Netflix franchise that has been successful beyond shareholders wildest dreams is back in its finale season. Of course, they can’t drop this all at once, so we get four episodes, aka, chapter one. The crew is split up doing covert missions, visiting the upside down, and some other random place that seems to be to mindful. My question to you is who is currently on deathwatch after watching the f...

Carol proves that she has other human emotions than rage, as the Hive makes some changes about its “arrangement” with Carol. Nature is running its course and Carol fires up the proverbial Mystery Machine and plays Scooby-Doo trying to uncover something that’s hiding in plain sight. Please! Episode four of the outstanding Pluribus on Apple TV+ has Carol play detective and part time experimenter, as she tries to seek the truth of what’s happening with the hive. We get a minor flashback to establish one of the non-hive humans, and Carol plays fast and loose with her hypothesis derived from said experiment. Please! Subscribe where we are, especially here on YouTube😊 www.theuponfurtherr...

We are back in the Vince Staples world and boy did it get weird. This show is making a case that we need to have more shows like this, because it does all the things weird shows do, namely making you think. Centered around the death of a loved one, Vince and his family have to deal with the ramifications of death and grief that challenges them in inconceivable ways. Please! Subscribe where we are,...

Carol finds herself in a world with no one else, a non-conformist attitude, and a killer sense of sarcasm that has her understanding that even a grenade is not off limits. Zosia, Carol’s hive representative has to learn boundaries, while Carol has to wrestle with the loss of Helen. Please! Subscribe where we are, especially here on YouTube😊 www.theuponfurtherreview.com IG: theuponfurtherreview FB...

Pluribus on Apple TV+ is a show that quickly devolves into chaos, as the world violently falls into what can be only described as a utopia. Our main character Carol is going through it, as she tries to wrap her mind around the events that are happening. The twist of this pseudo post-apocalypse is one that should be seen and not told, so if you haven’t watch this yet, it’s definitely worth the pric...

Predator: Badlands is the current entry into the firmly cemented Weyland-Yutaniverse and we get a coming of age story about how proving yourself to parental figures isn’t just a problem for humans. Both Yautja and synths are wanting to please their parent (or Mother) and not divert from their separate missions, but Dek and Thia realize they stand a better chance of survival if they work together....

As season 2 of Peacemaker on hbo max comes to a cliffhanger of a conclusion, we’re left to ask but one main question: does it live up to the hype? James Gunn promised that he would be doing some things that have never been done before and to put it mildly, they kinda did that. The gang does get back together, albeit short lived, Rick Flagg is still the worst, and Vigilante needs to treat his moms...
