He shared with us the importance of human connection. He used real-life examples and how he applies them in his personal life.

Grace Maiden shared with us how art saved her during her homelessness and health issues. Art helped Grace to overcome her anxiety during uncertain times in her life. It is incredible how God provided art and amazing people to help Grace. 

Angel Torres shared with us the challenges he experienced as an international student. He moved to the USA when he was just 13 years old. He struggled to adapt to the culture and learn a new language. Dominique Lawrence “Domo” is currently a Men’s College Basketball coach at Corban University AND a professional basketball player for TBL (The Basketball League) team, the Salem Capitals. He is well-known on campus for his energy and passion for playing and coaching basketball. I had the opportunity to learn more about his background and what he is doing in the community of Salem.

Obi shared with us about her experience at Corban University and how she tried to do her will in her life instead of God's. This is an excellent example of the benefits of allowing God to guide us in what we are called to be. 

Enrique shared with us how his choices helped him to become the person he is today. His life wasn't going on the right track as he grew up in a gang-infected neighborhood. Today he is giving back to the community from his experience as a college football player. He is an excellent example of the common saying,g "It is not where you start; it is where you finish."

I am free from the shame I dealt with for an extended period. Praying, talking with friends, and changing my environment was key for me to overcome my shame. 

Bethany Trull grew up in a "too-perfect" family: Christian, a solid marriage, and three well-behaved kids.
