The Donaldson Dugout

The stage is set for the American League Wild Card series at Yankee Stadium! We discuss pitching matchups and superstar injury woes. The Mets' season might be over, but a new manager and individual performances signal hope for 2027. Plus, we pay tribute to Howie Rose's career, celebrate our fantasy teams making the postseason, and reminisce about attending historic games of the past.    This episo...

Apologies to our Mets fan listeners -- this episode is Yankees-heavy! Our friend and lifelong Yankees fanatic Tom Caraccio visits the Dugout to share Yankees insights and heartfelt anecdotes while we anticipate the return of Judge. Do not fear, we also discuss why the Mets are allowed to be so unserious now. Plus, we debrief the trade deadline and pay our respects to Tommy John.  This episode was...

Glen Cove's own John "Zozo" Zozzaro -- whose rabid Mets fandom is known second only to his pizza -- visits the Donaldson Dugout to wait for trade news with our hosts... with 28 minutes left until the deadline. The Yankees disappoint, the Mets are still bad, and endless anecdotes ensue. Plus, we finally get to discuss the history of Curt Flood and his case for Free Agency.    This (long) episode wa...

We celebrated Dad's birthday by giving our midseason grades for the Mets, Yanks, and our fantasy teams -- and discussing potential Mets and Yanks trade targets for the deadline, recapping the All-Star game and HR Derby... and unfortunately we had a tech hiccup that will lead to a longer episode next time.  This episode was pre-recorded on July 26, 2026.

The darkest days of New York Baseball in 2026 have arrived. Carlos Mendoza fired! Mets still can't hit! Yankees slumping without Judge and Stanton! Starting pitching is human! Once we survive all of the dreadful news, we share a few All-Star Game predictions and Yankees history fun facts... anything to think about the good times, right?    Production note: This episode was pre-recorded on June 28,...

Basketball took center stage in New York this week, which didn't leave much time for baseball... but we made it all work. We talk Judge's injury and its ripple effects, the sad State of the Mets, and some Knicks crossover/all-over sports fan nostalgia.  This episode was pre-recorded on June 14, 2026.

The first 2026 Subway Series is history, and we talk all about it... plus our own Subway Series history. Gerrit Cole is back in the rotation, Gio Urshela announced his retirement, and our Special Guest Trivia Host returns!  Production Note: This episode was pre-recorded on May 24, 2026.

We could not let this episode go by without paying tribute to the great John Sterling. And as John would have it, we covered a lot of Yankees news. Plus, we shared stories about our moms and their connections to our favorite game.  Production Note: This episode was pre-recorded on Mother's Day, 5/10/26, prior to Jose Caballero's placement on the Injured List and the Yankees' calling up Anthony Vol...

DC's own Mets fanatic Ken pays a visit to discuss the state of the Mets and express his displeasure with one Yankees Captain. We also introduce a new segment -- baseball trivia -- with a special guest trivia host, and recount an adventure to Fenway Park.    Production Note: This episode was recorded on April 26, prior to Giancarlo Stanton being placed on the injured list.

In our longest episode to date, our nephew/cousin, Joe, joined us for this week in Mets, Yankees, and our fantasy league. The Mets and Yankees games were both in progress while we recorded, so look out for real-time reactions. Plus, we recapped our snake draft of all-time Mets and Yankees greats.

With Yankee and Mets bats cold, we discuss if it's time to sound the alarms just yet. We talk clubhouse dynamics for the Mets and the future of the Yanks' pitching. Apologies to Bob Costas are issued as well as to our listeners -- we advertised that Joe would appear on this episode and due to technical difficulties we had to postpone. Don't worry... we covered some family lore anyway.  Production...

After a whole three days of baseball our hosts discuss opening night on Netflix, the pros and cons of the ABS system, Yankee and Met highlights (and low lights), Paul Skenes' Opening Day nightmare, managing fantasy baseball as well as family dynamics, and Uncle Jim putting his foot through the television.
