The Avid Indoorsmen

It’s the 40th anniversary of what many have said is the best basketball film ever made, Hoosiers. We figured with March Madness coming to an end, this would be the time to chat about it. Our good friend, Luke Pierce, just so happens to be a Hoosier and this film meant a great deal to him growing up. We had a blast chatting with him and hope you enjoy this episode.

It’s the 20th anniversary of Accepted, a film that we feel like most people haven’t seen. Whenever we bring it up on the pod, nobody seems to remember it. However, when we brought it up to Nate Stone, his eyes lit up and he said “Ask Me About My Weiner!” He’s a real one. We had a good time chatting about this, hope you enjoy listening to it!

Paul Thomas Anderson won his first Oscars this year and he went all in with Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture. The two of us sat down and broke down what we thought of it and had a great time doing it. Hope you enjoy!

If you're a Patron of ours and you get the most correct, you can make us watch a movie you love! Good luck and hope everyone you want to win wins!

It's a Tom Hanks film from the 80's, which of course means we had to call up Abe Sword. We've had him on for The 'Burbs, Joe Versus the Volcano, Big and now The Money Pit. This home renovation nightmare of a story turns 40 years old this year and we had a great time chatting about it. Enjoy!

35 years ago a cinematic masterpiece was created, King Ralph. Maybe that's a little too high praise but we sure liked this movie when we were kids. It's just the two of us on this one and only one of us really likes this movie. Listen and find out wh...

We're back with Sami Matarante to talk about the sequel to Wicked, Wicked:For Good. It's been fun getting to chat with Sami about these films based on the musical she and so many people love so much. It had been a little while since we've talked about a brand new film, we hope you enjoy this episode!

Since the much anticipated sequel to Wicked has come out, we decided to finally chat about last year's musical sensation, Wicked. We brought back our good buddy, Sami Matarante, to gush about all of her thoughts on this movie musical. She had many strong opinions and was a delight to talk with, as usual. Hope you enjoy!

The film that made us believe that a werewolf would make a great high school basketball player just turned 40 years old, and we brought one of our hairiest friends, Chris Chatham, back on the pod to chat about it with us. Such a silly movie and an equally silly episode. Hope y'all enjoy.

The sequel to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective turned 30 years old this year, so we brought back the guys we talked to during the original Ace Ventura film, Benny Elledge and Adam Renegade Wilson. We had just as much fun the second time and hope you enjoy this episode. SHIKAKA!!!!

We brought back Adam Rupp to the pod to talk about one of his favorite movies growing up that just turned 40 years old, Clue. Such a fun whodunnit film and has to be the best movie made about a board game. We had a blast and hope you enjoy!

This was one of the scariest films Rob has ever seen and thought it would be fun to make Buegs experience the terror he felt. Hearing these terrified takes made for a fun episode. Happy Halloween!

Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer star in one of our favorite comedic murder mysteries of all time in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Our good friend and recurring guest, Timmy St. Sauver, feels the same way about this movie and we had a great time discussing why it is so much fun. Enjoy!

Shirley by now you’ve all seen the movie Airplane! It’s having its 45th anniversary and we decided to have Rob’s Dad, Fred Lundquist, back on the pod to talk about it. We had a great time with Fred and think you’ll enjoy it as well. Enjoy!

After last week's episode on Apollo 13 we decided to double up on space mission movies that don't go as planned, and break down the 2015 Ridley Scott film, The Martian. This is one of those movies that we've seen many times over the last 10 years, it is very rewatchable and it was very enjoyable spending some time chatting about it. Enjoy!

The out-of-this-world Ron Howard classic, Apollo 13, has just turned 30 years old. We brought back to the pod a close friend and super NASA nerd, Pat Nelson, to break this film down. We’ve never seen him so excited to talk about anything. It was really fun getting his perspective on this film and you might just learn something from this episode :)

The Scorsese classic, Goodfellas, is celebrating 35 years and we thought it was about time we talked about this perfect gangster film. It's just the two of us on this one, we were gonna have someone else on but he couldn't keep his mouth shut and he needed to be taught a lesson. Not really...we just got canceled on. Anywho, Enjoy!

It’s all happening on our latest episode breaking down Cameron Crowe’s film, Almost Famous. We brought back our good friend, Timmy St Sauver on this one and had a very good time. Enjoy!
