The Aftermath

Things are heating up in the galaxy far far away! Karn got himself a new job in the ball crushing factory, and meanwhile Andor is getting arrested while on vacation. Not for the heist I may add, just looking sus on the beach. Boom, six years in prison. Jump over to Coruscant and Mon is trying to convince an old friend that they are on the same team. Peak Star Wars I tell you. Our Links: Ian Wolffe...

Dylan and I were finishing up a playthrough of ODST, and as we were planning for this show he said to me: “Man, I really want to talk about Halo.” and here we are. On top of all the Halo talk we also discuss retro games from our past and reminisced about the good ol’ days of the 2000’s Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

Hear me out, we get rid of Haru and move Arrietty and her family into the mansion. Everyone would be happy, safe, and you can’t tell me that wouldn’t have been a better ending. All I’m saying is, we can get better help that isn’t prejudiced towards the Borrowers. Is that too much to ask? Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

We got Ethan back on the show! He talked about all of the anime he and Dylan have been watching together recently. As all of our conversations tend to do, it got loud, and there may have been a few Trump impressions in there too. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

The plan is coming together, if only Skeen would get out of the way… Just like any good heist the tension is building and all the pieces all falling into place. We’ve got disguises, underwater infiltration, hostages, and yet another sick firefight. Last but not least, Dylan was right, Nemik was killed at the end. He was just too nice. Wait, where are we? Why is there fresh food here? Why is that Faceless Spirit following us? Welcome to the world of Spirited Away, where if you have an aversion to throwing up you are not going to be happy. This train ride is long and let’s us really sit back and think about all the crazy stuff we’ve been through these past few days. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

Welcome back to the next installment of our Andor watchthrough. This week we watched episodes 3-4 and the intrigue is ramping up. We got a warehouse firefight, people getting fired, Mon Mothma, and the beginnings of a heist. The real question is will our optimistic ray of sunshine get killed in this mission. It has been a long time coming. We finally got the man, the myth, the legend, our good friend Coby on the show. We brought him back to his childhood and watched some classic Dragon Ball Z. In this episode we also took the chance to introduce him to you all, so we talked about recent games we’ve been playing as well as some of our other favourite anime. Here it is, our first step into the Star Wars universe for this podcast. We are starting with the first two episodes of season one, and what a great start this was. It had everything you could have ever asked for, blaster, contraband, corrupt law enforcement, child death, and love in a hopeless place. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

The one and only Ethan is back in the studio. After much world traveling and classes keep him away, he has finally graced us with his presence. We covered all his trips, the fact that he shouldn’t have crammed the classes he’s currently doing, his eventual conquering of Mount Kilimanjaro, and of course all the beers. The true ending to Violet Evergarden. The last four episodes, 10-13, and boy was that heavy. We experienced the loss of a mother from the eyes of a child. The final moments of a soldier sharing his love for his parents and partner. Last but not least, the complete understanding of the words “I love you”. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

This is where it all started with this franchise. Dylan and I look back at this almost 25 years old movie, and reminisce on how times have changed. As well as how this movie started a trend in the gaming world that I fell in love with. The fast was the furious we made along the way. Family. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

After apparently four years Jon has finally come back to the show! He was with us in our humble beginnings, and now here he is again with all of our nice equipment. Dylan just finished Final Fantasy XVI and he wanted to share his experience. After taking care of a bunch of crystals and a multiphase boss fight that took two hours, I believe we can all say that this was definitely a Final Fantasy. O...

In this week’s episode we watched episodes 6-9, and man was it full of emotion. Needless to say I have fully fallen in love with this show, and it could have ended right here and I would have been happy. We unpack heartfelt storylines, robot-like emotional growth, and try to figure out how Violet manages it all while having a full-blown existential crisis. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

Welcome as we dive into the first four episodes of Violet Evergarden, where our emotionally-challenged war doll tries to learn feelings via postal service. Expect stunning visuals, and suppressed emotions. Warning: May cause crying and introspection. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

Tonight we slightly dive into the wild world of Gundam 00. Giant mechs, moral dilemmas, and more explosions than we can handle. We also chat about blowing stuff up (strategically) in Broken Arrow, Dylan’s emotional rollercoaster through Final Fantasy XVI, and give a much-deserved shoutout to the one and only Sir Wade, the (real) protagonist. Armour, check. Gun, check. Helmet, check. Scowl, check. This gritty, ultra-violent, slow-mo-filled action flick where Karl Urban's chin does most of the acting, is a masterpiece. This truly is a story of how you should never, ever mess with a psychic rookie, or a guy who never takes off his helmet. I am the law! Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

Here is another of Studio Ghibli’s heartbreaking masterpieces about chasing your dreams, building beautiful planes, and emotionally wrecking your audience. Is it a love story? A war story? An existential crisis with really good animation? Yes. All of the above. We cry, we dream, we build planes, and question whether following your passion is worth it if it ends in emotional devastation and highly...

Another episode where Dylan, Chase, and myself yap about video games. This is one of our filler episodes after some heavy plot development. Think of it like our beach episode, or like the hot springs episode, but with less skin and innuendos. Our Links: Ian Wolffe Send us Fan Mail

This is a story about overcoming the odds, pushing yourself past the limit, and believing in yourself even when you feel like you can’t go on anymore. In these 9 episodes we experienced every bit of that. We made new friends, took down enemies, learned more about our horrible nemesis, fell in love along the way, and were betrayed by our friend. Let me see you grit those teeth. Our Links: Ian Wolff...

In this week’s episode we talk about an AI that needs to go to therapy. It whines a lot for a robot that could fix everything, if only it could think creatively and also hadn’t wiped out all of humanity. In the end it tortures a poor man for putting the rest of his party out of its misery. Now he is doomed to writhe around as a slug man with no mouth not knowing what time it is. It’s not fair if y...
