The second lesson in a series on the 3 things which abide - Faith, Hope, Love. An overview of the foundation and result of the hope we have as followers of Christ.

At the end of 1 Corinthians 13, Paul mentions 3 things which abide - Faith, Hope, and Love. This lesson considers the first of those - our faith.

Even the enemies of Christ recognized that there was something "different" about Jesus. In this lesson we explore four ways in which Jesus spoke like no man before or after Him ever could.

The second of two lessons on elders. This considers what Scripture provides as the qualifications for men to serve as Shepherds of the local church.

However, when we appeal to the wisdom from above, peace and every good thing results.

Various religious groups teach differently about the purpose of baptism. In this lesson we quickly consider what some groups teach on the topic and then consider what the Bible has to say.

“A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son” is the inscription of the Third Psalm. As we consider David’s Psalm describing one of the low points of his life, we learn about the confidence and hope we can find only in our mighty God.

Paul instructs Timothy how to conduct himself in the house of God which is the church of God, the pillar and support of the truth. This lesson considers our obligation toward truth as individuals and the church. Namely to Pursue it, Practice it, Proclaim it, and Protect it.

After telling His disciples all that was about to happen to Him in fulfillment of prophesy, the mother of James and John asks Jesus to sit her two sons on His right and left side in His Kingdom. Jesus takes this opportunity to again teach his disciples about greatness - specifically how greatness in His Kingdom comes from being a humble servant.

Application is made from David’s charge to Solomon recorded in 1 Kings 2:1-4 to our charge as Christians today.

Dwayne discussed how the Christian should conduct themselves when it comes to their use of social media.

In Jesus' sermon on the mount, He said "blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy." Dwayne discussed what it means to be merciful and explores the need to look to God's mercy in our dealings with others.

The Old Testament account of Abigail teaches us a lot of dealing with a difficult situation. In here case, she was married to a fool who almost got her family killed by David. Through her wisdom and influence she saved her family and kept David from acting impetuously.

Dwayne discussed Biblical manhood in this sermon.

Dwayne preached about forgiving others using the parable Jesus told of the Unforgiving Servant.

How are we to handle God's word? James provides an answer which echos the teaching of Jesus' sermon on the mount. We are to look into God's word, honestly reflect upon our life, and DO what God's word says. Otherwise we delude ourselves and our religion becomes worthless to God.

Guest speaker Bryan G. Legg helped us in this lesson to understand the proper place of emotions in the life of a Christian. The Christian life devoid of emotions is not pleasing to God. And Christians who are led my emotion drift far away from the Lord's will.

The Hebrews writer urges these Christians to take heed, giver the more earnest heed, or pay much closer attention lest they drift away. If we are not careful, we can drift away from the truth of the Gospel and from the Lord. This topical lesson explores several root causes that lead to Christians drifting away from the Lord and what we can do to prevent drifting.

In Peter's second epistle, he provides for us two key pieces of evidence given to us by God to bolster our faith. The numerous eyewitness accounts of the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus and the prophecies fulfilled in Christ are overwhelming proof that the gospel message is true.

One of the most familiar parable of Jesus is the parable of the talents. This lesson considers the parable and the applications for us today. To each one, God has entrusted talents/abilities/opportunities. Are we going to go through our life sheltering those talents? Or are we going to be active in the Kingdom of our Lord growing those talents to the glory of God?

The apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of unity, the foundation of unity, and the elements of unity. There is much division in the religious world today and we need, more than ever, to return to the Biblical pattern for unity among brethren.

In the second chapter of Paul's second letter to Timothy, he encourages him to "be strong in grace."

The 145th Psalm is one of the clearest expressions of the greatness of God toward men. God's greatness is seen in His character, His power, His nature, His kingdom, and His care.
