Restoration Church Life

Joey and Lauren discuss the why, what, and how of RKids

Joey shares with us what a sabbatical is (and isn’t) as well as telling us how he’ll spend and how it’s even good for you!

Me and Joey share our favorite reads as well as mentioning some others from fellow members. Here’s the list of all the books mentioned: Recommended by Nathan: The Power and Sympathy of Christ – J. C. Ryle Do You Pray? A Question for Everybody – J. C. Ryle Inexpressible: Hesed and the Mystery of God’s Lovingkindness – Michael Card A Spacious Life: Trading Hustle and Hurry for the Goodness of Limits...

How can we stand and advance the truth of Christ inside conversations that are hard or controversial or counter-cultural? In this episode I’ll walk you through my method I call “DABAC” that will equip you for those convos. I also give a couple reminders at the end.

Let’s talk about some of the ways the church is equipping you for the work of ministry this fall. You’ll be encouraged by all the different highways and byways for us to get on in order to make disciples that delight in the supremacy of Christ.

In this episode I’ll answer (a) how and why Kings now? (b) what are the big ideas of Kings? (c) why such a fast clip? (d) what commentary might I buy to follow along? (e) what counsel do you have to prepare for each week? (f) how can I/we pray for this series?

JC Ryle was a pastor in 19th century England and he wrote a little book called “Do You Pray?” I read through pieces of it and make some additional comments as to how to better our private prayer lives.
