Pod Meets World

Leather jackets are an important talisman in the BMW universe, but this episode might reveal their true role: signs of “not boyfriend/girlfriend material.”   Rider takes us behind the scenes of a make out scene with an actor he’s known since he was 8 years old, and while the memories start to flow, he also fills us in on why his acting coach got banned from being on set!   Plus, Will experiences a...

Shawn Hunter’s parental situation wasn’t ideal on Boy Meets World, but Rider’s reality was the exact opposite. The Parent Series continues, now with Lin and King Strong in the hot seat and sharing everything you want to know about the origin of a young angsty sitcom star! The Strongs reveal the early movies that molded Rider and his brother Shiloh into creatives and what ‘90s summer blockbuster al...

Danielle finally reappears and expands her kissing experience with another actor…but things don’t quite go as planned.   The gang holds nothing back when watching how Cory treats Topanga and are yearning for some Boris University merch.   A beloved character makes a return after a lengthy absence, and Danielle gets emotional while watching Eric and Feeny!   Plus, are “Prom fashion shows” a thing??...

Class is in session! The gang is thrilled to catch up with a real life Mr. Feeny - their on-set teacher: Wesley Staples. A mentor for Danielle and Rider, Wesley visits to reminisce about his time helping the young cast become functioning adults and how vital an educator can be for a rising child star. From terrible chemistry grades to “pet” cockroaches to how Wesley helped Danielle heal after her...

William Daniels is a consummate performer, and the most accomplished actor on the Boy Meets World set, but THIS episode marks the first time we see him *almost* break. Emphasis on ALMOST.   The gang bids farewell to Joey the Rat - but welcomes back Vader - who gets to flex some real acting muscle!   It’s the first episode after the Cory and Topanga break-up, but the script doesn’t seem to care. An...

Danielle, Rider & Will have already tracked down some BMW-lifers for the podcast, getting the inside scoop from the select few crew members who worked on the show for all 7 seasons. But when it comes to the true tea, no one saw more than the Stage Manager. And Steve Hoefer was that - and more - for the show’s entire run. In addition to directing one of the most surreal episodes of the series,...

This episode is a big example of art imitating life, when Rider sees some familiar details in Cory and Topanga’s break-up. AND…that’s not where the similarities end! Rider shares a behind the scenes story of TWO dates visiting him on set at the same time! Will the gang finally be all-in for Cory and Topanga, thanks to the work of a somewhat jarring, but emotional, montage? And what’s the latest up...

We continue our celebration of getting halfway through Season 3 and (kinda sorta) approaching the halfway point for recaps, by participating in another fierce competitive draft! This time Danielle, Rider & Will are faced with choosing the best EPISODES they’ve seen so far.   Who will score the iconic Shawn episode “The Fugitive??” Will the Pilot episode even get picked?? And will Topanga be in...

On the journey, the gang participates in a fan Q&A that ranges from their favorite qualities about each other, to embarrassing moments with celebrities, to Will’s imminent hearing loss. And some of the questions are a...

To celebrate the (kind of) half(ish)way point to Season 7 of Boy Meets World, we’re pitting Danielle, Will and Rider against each other to see who can “draft” the best team of BMW characters from the episodes they’ve seen so far. Who will be the #1 pick? Which Matthews parent will go first? And is Yasmine Bleeth even available if she doesn’t remember being on the show?    Things get heated when th...

We’ve got a winner! “City Slackers” is a pivotal episode for Rider and Will, because while one faced disciplinary action, the other worked with a “master magician” (and just wait until you hear more about that guy!)   We get a rare Feeny/Shawn storyline and Rider shares how his love of Counting Crows has forever connected him to the legendary band. And you won’t believe the behind the scenes true...

Her name came up so many times on the show, she'd become the perennial "We gotta get her on the pod"  - and now...here she is. Writer / producer Susan Estelle Jansen has arrived to talk about her many contributions and her experiences inside the BMW writers room. And as an integral part of the show's birth and production, we get her perspective and dig even deeper into the Rashomon that was Season...

We’re hopping in a stretch limo (and then a train) to recap a special (or not so special) New Year’s Eve episode of BMW! Rider holds nothing back when he shares his honest opinion on this stand alone farcical romp, while Danielle is still obsessing over a cringe encounter with a celebrity at a recent convention. The gang shares some behind the scenes stories of how fun this episode was to film…eve...

We all love Boy Meets World, but what would the show be like if you couldn’t hear Feeny’s words of wisdom, the chaos of the halls of John Adams High or the audience swooning over Cory and Topanga?? Sound Mixer Tamara Johnson is an unsung hero from behind the scenes, serving as the sound mixer for EVERY episode of BMW and Girl Meets World! Tamara shares some unbelievable stories about making the sh...

Sure, it's early in the Cory / Topanga relationship, but the gang is already concerned with some immediate red flags.  Cory is insorceled by a classmate named Missy, now interested in forcefully kissing him against his will because he's taken by Topanga. So when he ends up at a faux party thrown to test his loyalty, he finds himself in deep trouble. But the big question: Did he do anything wrong?...

It’s time to answer that huge grey cell phone because Zack Morris has arrived at John Adams High! Mark-Paul Gosselaar is here for the crossover you never imagined!! Mark-Paul shares all his memories from the '90s and the similarities between BMW Season 1 and Good Morning, Miss Bliss. How did the blonde hair haunt him? Why did Mario Lopez actually beat him up in a scene? And how does mentioning Jam...

Hey, hey we’re Pod Meets World!  It’s a guest star heavy BMW when the writers’ favorite band, The Monkees, swing by to jam, but mysteriously keep one member off camera.   Will and Rider detail the pre-show ritual that Eric and Cory stole to debut on-screen, while some VERY cool background actors join the cast to party.   Plus, we find out why Will looked SO uncomfortable at an “illegal rave,” even...

Topanga Lawrence may have had two different moms on Boy Meets World, but Danielle Fishel? She’s only got one. And so Jennifer Fishel joins the show for some behind the scenes stories you won’t believe! Find out which cast member Jen found intimidating (even as a teenager), and why she had to become a bit over-protective while on set. But she wouldn’t be a good parent if she didn’t give us some off...

Media trained or not, this episode brought out a lot of feelings. It may be the beginning of the meaningful storylines and character development we’ve been waiting for, but it’s also the start of “crazy pants” when it comes to Eric. Will this recipe for sitcom be the moment that fixes Season 3 for our hosts? Another legendary line read from the great Blake Sennet is praised, and Mr. Williams gets...

Melissa Joan Hart explains it all on a brand new episode! How did her mom pay $1 for the rights to Sabrina? Which PMW host did she briefly date as a teenager? What’s going on in that infamous movie premiere photo with Britney Spears? And what will she be working on with Will in the not-so-distant future? Plus, time travel to the back of a limo with Melissa, Danielle and *NSYNC during the early ‘00...

Imagine a game show where the casts of Boy Meets World, Saved by the Bell and Full House, competed against each other by jumping and strategizing around a favorite childhood game. Can we make that dream a reality? Rider is not down. But onto bigger and better things - it’s time to tackle the episode, “This Little Piggy,” which gives us more Topanga, but not in the way we wanted. Will the downward...

You know the “who” and the “why” of Boy Meets World, but now it’s time to hear about the “wear!”  Legendary costume designer Sara Markowitz joins Danielle, Will and Rider to share her stories from seasons 2 & 3, while spilling some of the best dressed secrets (like the true meaning of Turner’s ties and what BMW has in common with Twin Peaks!!) Mysteries are uncovered as Sara takes us into the...

The gangs’ concerns about Season 3 sure are stacking up - but are they just facing another bout of Drop Shock?  With Topanga back on the call sheet, there’s hope, but the absence of tripods, cameras and cables are stealing most of Rider’s attention. Plus, this episode inspires Will to admit to a lifelong lie he told about Bon Jovi and some tour travel stories are in full effect… See omnystudio.com...

She may have been in a super long timeout, but now she’s free and ready to chat! You know her as “the second Morgan Matthews,” but what you don’t know are the details of how it all went down, the secrets that were kept (including from Lindsay!) and why Will might not be allowed into a LEGOLAND. We move on from the Weasel and hear all about the birth of a brand new Morgan.  Same World. New stories....

For a script that has more storylines than John Adams High School has floors, the gang is back and ready to recap. With Shawn getting advice (and tips on flirting?) from a new guidance counselor, it’s also time to say goodbye to both of our top bullies. Our hosts also notice the episode’s “bum” character is a true legend and papayas are not a casual snack, man!  Rider details what it was like to e...
