On day two of Fear the Con 4, your Funnybooks hosts settled down to enjoy some lunch and chat about the con.  Since Wayne was otherwise engaged, John Stephens of Thistledown Actual Play was employed to fill the role of Fake Wayne (aka False Wayne or Fool’s Wayne).  We were joined by comedian Mikey Mason […]

New Avengers #10 Wonder Woman #608 Ultimate Spider-Man #155 […]

Paul returns this week, but leaves that echo of his behind while we find ourselves lusting after the iPad2 and giddy with the anticipation of Fear the Con 4.  Join Aron, Paul, Tim, Wayne and Andrew for another podcast episode full of comics, and yes, He/She Update Week 3! Annihilators #1 Astonishing Thor #3 Avengers […]

Paul’s away from the microphone this week and he decided to take that irritating echo with him.  So while Aron, Tim, Wayne and Andrew wait for Charlie Sheen to dial in, we chat about all manner of subjects.  For instance we mourn the loss of comics and animation luminary Dwayne McDuffie, Tim applies some savage […]

This week, John and well…Jon swallow their pride and admit a bit of ignorance, as well as, share their Cards of the Week, talk Event Decks and discuss a couple preview cards you could be getting at Besieged Game Day. How ’bout some love, or some hate in the comments or cardcrack@gmail.com.

This week, after trying him out a couple of times, we welcome Andrew as our newest co-host.  We cover a lot of ground this time.  Aron’s car gets banged up, Paul gets screwed over by his comics-guy, and Andrew continues to chase the He/She as Tim and Wayne mock him. Telltale Games announces Walking Dead […]

On the heels of our interview with Amazing Spider-man scribe Dan Slott, Tim is inspired to bring the energy and bullies the rest of us into doing the same. Join the brow-beaten Aron, Paulie, and Wayne as Tim prods us forward. Aron’s messed up dreams NBC picks up the rights to the Wonder Woman TV […]

The truth of the matter is that Paul drug me to Amazing Spider-man kicking and screaming.  I hadn’t read the title in more than ten years and while I loved the character, I’d not been jazzed by a Spider-man story in a long while. Then Paul introduced me to Spidey-scribe Dan Slott’s Big Time, the […]

There’s a lot to talk about this week.  Wayne got a new bed, Fear the Con’s coming up and – oh yes – comics!  So gird your loins and join Aron, Paul, Tim and Wayne for our 79th weekly episode! Wayne saw the Green Hornet The Cape (Marvel) Amazing Spider-Man #651 (Marvel) Captain America: Man […]

It was a sad week for comics.  Not only did very little hit the stands for the first week of January 2011, but there was also very little in the way of quality in these books.  But don’t despair, there were a couple of winners.  Plus, we return to What If We Were Writing…? Join […]

Our 77th weekly episode was recorded the morning of New Year’s Day with your four hosts slightly the worse for wear from the earlier evening’s celebrations. Still, no amount of alcohol and loose women can keep these podcasters from their sacred mission. Join Aron, Paul, Tim and Wayne as they kick off 2011 with massive […]

It’s that time of year, again.  It is the time when we gather to reflect on the best the year has offered us and the worst with which it has afflicted us.  Alabama Sunshine joins the regular crew of Aron, Paul, Tim and Wayne as we reflect, praise and even curse the comics of 2010. […]

Santa’s making his list, checking it twice and found three guys ain’t nice right here on this podcast.  That’s right… Neither Paul, Tim nor Wayne can expect gifts under the tree.  They’re mean, mean boys.  But Santa won’t be leaving them sticks and coal.  No, this year he’s giving a little Alabama Sunshine to the […]

Studies show that 25% of all men are dicks.  4 out of 5 dentists agree, but that fifth guy (and a little of the fourth) is a dick.  The reality is that if you’re hanging out with three other dudes and you can’t figure which of you is the dick?  It’s most likely you. This […]

This may be our eighth Knights of Reignsborough episode, but it is our 7th – and final – sandbox session.  This time around we discuss two house rules designed to support the style we’re wanting to foster and create the environment for authentic comic character development. We explore the core concept mechanic.  You know what […]

This week, Andrew  of Backseat Box Office fame joins us to talk about a spectacularly craptastic week in comics (with one or two notable exceptions) and join us in our second Christmas Spectacular.  So throw another Batman book on the fire and pour yourself a tall mulled cider.  Christmas time is here! (DC Comics) Adventure […]
