This episode we discuss using Chat GPT as a tool for learning English, reading and discussing some short stories it put together with a few random English words.

This week we read the beginning of the book Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy. Classic satirical science fiction from the British author Douglas Adams, written in 1979. I will attach some photos of the pages for people to follow along with in the comments on our Telegram page. We discuss the writing and try to catch uncommon vocabulary and explain the humor and author's intent.

We read an article about visiting Taipei Taiwan, and try a new style, where I ask Stas to explain what he just read, trying to find more common synonyms for journalistic language. Enjoy!

In this episode we attempt to play a game where we think of a person or character and the other person has to ask questions until they get to the answer. Due to language barrier and different cultural references we fail completely at it.  Then we read an article about farmers markets in Winter.

Stas and I return after taking a week break.  I talk about getting my new phone, wandering around town testing aspects of the camera, and we read an article about the state of skiing in the US.

Miles ends his Thanksgiving vacation and we read a NYT real estate section article about the community of New Haven Connecticut. 

We read an article about things to do while you visit Mexico City.  They mention an artist who 's one of my favorites, José Clemente Orozco. I'd love to see his frescos someday!

This week we read an interesting article about conservation efforts in Mexico bearing fruit, as the endangered jaguar population in the Yucatan is steadily increasing.  

We read an article about my town, Mcminnville Oregon and some of the wine tasting and foodie tourism going on there.  

This week we read an article about language difficulty levels and then we read an article about dark tourism, where people take somber trips to visit places where atrocities happened, instead of just going to the beach.  Pretty interesting stuff!

On our 15th episode we talk about lazy weekends with some cooking involved, and then we read an article about Santa Cruz California and some of the activities done there, such as surfing.

We return from a short hiatus to talk about Stas' escape from Zaporizhzhia Ukraine where the Russian army has relentlessly attacked civilian targets, ramping up strikes in the last few weeks.  Then we answer some listener questions and read a NYT article about cold-plunging in Maine, USA.

Stas and I interview my sister Iris about her hobbies and profession. She is a nutritionist who enjoys gardening, cooking and surfing.  Sorry about the audio quality, I noticed my mic had some digital distortion.  I was using an untested laptop at my moms house. I tried to reduce the noise a bit.  Hopefully it's still listenable and it was a great conversation.
