Dunks After Dusk

The Timberwolves underperform in a win against the Pistons which the follow-up by forgetting to show up on time for the start of the game against the Warriors. 21-19 with two of the best teams in the East on deck.

In what felt like a flashback to the 2022 playoffs, the Timberwolves drop a very important and very winnable game to the Grizzlies due to a lack of rebounding and poor clutch execution. DiVincenzo and McDaniels were awesome, but Ant and Rudy were not. 20-18 with the Wizards on deck.

In what was the definition of a coast-to-coast win, the Timberwolves went to Orlando and took care of business. Every player on the team played within themselves and made contributions to winning. After three straight victories, the Wolves once again are knocking on the door of being taken seriously as a playoff threat.

With a new starting lineup, the Timberwolves win back-to-back games against two teams that just got their superstars back. While the team is still far from perfect, Anthony Edwards has returned to superstar form. If they can keep stacking some wins, they may just regain the attention of the playoff teams in the West.

Mitch and Pat are back to briefly take in the losses to the Pistons and Celtics before shifting gears and talking about the future. Rather than talking about the same old rut that this basketball team finds itself in, we take the role of fan GMs and talk about what we think the team should do to salvage the season.

The Wolves complete an epic comeback against Houston, battle SA to victory despite an off game for Anthony Edwards, and fall to the buzzsaw that is OKC. All in all, more positives than negatives! Happy new year all!

Mitch and Pat got into the holiday spirit and decided to offer gifts to the Timberwolves following their win on Christmas day.

As has been the case for the Wolves team for about a month, the offense is completely non-existent. The team's last of chemistry and cohesion is evident, with the big question now being: What is going to be done to change it?

The Timberwolves fall 113-103 to the Golden State Warriors and the ticking clock to roster changes has begun.

In his return to Minnesota, KAT puts up a 30-20-6 in one of the best performances of his career. As for the Wolves, they were interested in playing defense for about one quarter before everything fell apart at the seams.

The Timberwolves have won 6/7 and Jaden McDaniels gets his second big ticket award in a row. The defense continues its elite play and the Wolves have climbed back into the thick of the Western Conference playoffs. Fun week coming with the return of KAT and a Christmas day game on the horizon.

The Timberwolves go 2-1 over the past 8 days which Mitch and Pat recap post vacation. The Warrior series was a split, while the Lakers game tonight was a return of the kind of defense the Wolves played last season. The Wolves are climbing the standings with lots of games left to play.

The Timberwolves put forth their most dominant effort of the season, building a lead up to 41 points. Rudy Gobert was a dominant force while putting up an 8-9-7-5-1 stat line. This team continues to find and develop it's defensive identity and have now one three straight games. 11-10

The Minnesota Timberwolves have their most complete game of the year in a dismantling of LA. The defense held the Lakers to 80 points while the offense was insistent on sharing the ball. 10-10 at the quarter mark of the season.

The Wolves beat the Clippers 93-92 and on a final minute of chaos! While a lot of the underlying issues that have caused losing remain, the victory tonight was a step in the right direction on the defensive side of the ball. 

Stop us if you've heard this before, but the Timberwolves played another inconsistent basketball game, leaving the game hanging in the balance of late game offense. The Fox and Monk delivered while none of the Timberwolves could match. 8-10 with the team beginning to tear apart at the seams.

Robert Dillingham was special, but he wasn't enough to overcome a 4/25 night from beyond the arc for the Timberwolves' starters. The Timberwolves lose their 3rd straight and fall below .500 at 8-9.

The Minnesota Timberwolves gave a solid effort this afternoon in Boston. Unfortunately, solid is not enough against the defending champs. Rudy Gobert had a bounceback game, Anthony Edwards filled the stat sheet, and Robert Dillingham must be the Dairy King because his breakout performance left us craving a Dilly Bar.

While the same basketball issues (turnovers and points in the paint) plagued the Timberwolves in the 110-105 loss to the Raptors, the story of the night was Rudy Gobert acting like a petulant child. Following an overtime thriller against the Kings on Friday, Julius Randle decided there wouldn’t be extra basketball today as he drained a three pointer at the top of the arc and called ball game. The game as a whole was a microcosm of the Wolves season thus far - the rollercoaster of up and down offense and up and down defense. Monster Dunks. 60 point performances. Superstar heroics. This game had a little bit of everything - but despite the roller coaster ride, the most important part was that the Timberwolves found a way to win thanks to the closing effort of Anthony Edwards. 7-6 with Phoenix coming to town on Sunday.

The Timberwolves fall in back-to-back games against the Portland Trailblazers and that brings with it a new low point of the past two years and lots of questions about where this team is going. Mitch and Pat break it down, roast some players, and offer very little optimism outside of "hopefully this is as bad as it gets".

From the tipoff, the Miami Heat wanted to make this game a dogfight, and it was. Full court pressure, blitzing switches, and lots of physicality by both teams led to an old-school 94-95 final score. Minnesota was up eight with four minutes to go, but were ultimately doomed by slopiness, frustration fouls, and baffling coaching decisions.

The Timberwolves shoot 22/50 from three and win a wire-to-wire victory over the Portland Trailblazers. Anthony Edwards leads the way once again with 37-6-5, our Cerbarus bench showed up and did their thing, and Rudy Gobert was the anchor in the middle. 6-3 with General Soreness coming to town on Sunday where he will find another reason to skip a game in Minnesota.

The Timberwolves play an uneven game against Chicago, but an offensive explosion makes the final score seem like that game was not as close as it actually was. The good and the bad of this team is still there, but winning games as they sort through their identity is a good place to be.
