Duke Reacts!

Ludacris the forgotten GOAT of the Atlanta scene, this dude a sleeping giant. In his prime Chris could spit it with anybody and eat MCs for breakfast. This remains his finest work, from the 2001 banger Word Of Mouf

Did not know what I was getting myself into with this track, it's one SAVAGE verse and a hook followed by an extended instrumental section that I thought would lead into another verse but ended up going forever.

Shout to my man Professor of Rock who did the story of Warren Zevon and Werewolves of London last month, dope record from 1978. Got some interesting lyrics here and even a possible cameo from JAY-Z. Enjoy

Classic Janelle Monae joint from the 2010s. She on fire with this whole Electric Lady record. But the important thing is that she got, in one of his last truly great performances, a feature from PRINCE.

With the exception of Alvin Sane nobody goes crazier than the Jewish actor and rock star known as Jack Black. Jables for the WIN in this one, opening the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards with a little ditty called I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas

Reacting to an early music video from the GREAT Canadian power trio Rush. The Vimeo screen capture software froze my computer a few times while doing this reaction, so parts of the audio were lost. We were able to salvage the reaction using the parts that came out clean. This is for all the great Rush fans out there. I've gotten awesome responses from my reactions to other influential 70s arti...

Reacting to an obscure 90s video by a Scottish techno/house band called The Shamen. The complexity and fast-rap delivery of the verses caught me off guard.

We've unearthed a couple gems from one of the godfathers of both Rap and Alternative music. Zappa had a lot to say about the Disco movement of the late 70s. If you want us to do a full reaction to Disco Boy leave a like and let us know in the comments below. Peace

One of the first music videos of the MTV era, this was made in 1979, with dancing babes and a full band performance. Lead vocals on this track are from Squeeze's Chris Difford, who usually sings backup to Glenn Tilbrook.

Raekwon's Rock N'Roll Remix featuring DJ Khaled, The Game, Pharrell, and Busta Rhymes. Take a guess who be eating the other rappers on this one.

Reacting to the Hold Steady's first music video, "The Swish" from their 2004 record Almost Killed Me. The song "I'm Talking To You" on my first album is based on Craig Finn's delivery on this song: https://open.spotify.com/track/3UKpkSFbGU1BEqgxeA5wMH?si=973bf043cb8b4d5c

Reacting to Jack and SNOOP, album cut from Come Home The Kids Miss You. Enjoy

Sorry for the sound interference, it's windy out there. But we're trying something new this week on Duke Reacts! live from the road. This is the infamous SmokePurpp freestyle on TIm Westwood's radio show where he goes crazy in the best possible way. You just gotta see this.

Reacting to Mike Jones' 2006 remix with a special surprise guest. Enjoy Listen to Alvin Sane's music on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6mRUc495ldnPXT56pSjAMz?si=r_jds9-JR3iD-Fw7k4WUYg Alvin Sane on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/mralvinsane

One of the weirdest and most "out there" music videos I have found from the UK in the early 1980s, Nik Kershaw was a gifted songwriter but who knows what they were thinking on this music video. And what chemicals were involved.

Reacting to Sammie - Hardball (ft. Lil Bow Wow, Lil Zane, Lil Wayne & Jermaine Dupri) from the soundtrack to the film Hardball (2001) starring Keanu Reeves. Enjoy

This is one of Beavis & Butt-Head's most infamous music video "reactions" from the original series, believe this Whale single dropped in 1994.. I don't ever wanna steal the shine of other reactors, but this video is too crazy not to share with my viewers. Enjoy

This is a partial reaction, my camera cut out after Rick Ross's verse, which it does sometimes with audio only reactions. if you wanna hear the full reaction including verses by The Game, Lil Wayne and Fabolous leave us a like and subscribe to the podcast.

It has been 20 years since Busta and Diddy teamed up for this all time anthem. I can't repeat the chorus of this one, but it is a BANGER that still hits different when this comes on in the club. You HAVE to jump when the hook comes in.

This is the anti-Vietnam War anthem "Feel Like I'm Fixin To Die Rag" performed live by Country Joe MacDonald (originally by Country Joe And The Fish) at Woodstock '69. GOT BARS in 1969 baby. Enjoy

Music Video Reaction to J-Doe - Coke, Dope, Crack, Smack (Official Remix) Ft. David Banner, T-Pain, & Busta Rhymes. T-Pain arguably outshined three dope MCs including the legendary Busta Rhymes on this record. Let me know what you thought in the comments below and who brought it on this one.

Re-recording one of my first published reactions from 2020, this is a song about sex. This one has a music video, taken from one of the Nuge's concerts in 1978. This is the Motor City Madman at his craziest.

Banger from 2010s UK rap group Kings of the City. They met at a Busta Rhymes concert, 2 MCs and a guitarist, Danny Wilder, who has since passed.

Gibby Haynes from the Butthole Surfers was a dope MC, he used a hip-hop style in many of his records including this one, the Surfers' biggest hit Pepper (1996) Enjoy CORRECTION: Gibby Haynes and the Butthole Surfers are from San Antonio, not Austin.

New heat rock from Diddy and Rozay, with a video snippet filmed live in Miami. Love the vibe on this one, that's what it seems to be all about these days. 88 seconds of content, don't need one more.
