Tony Mazur
Check Your Brain
Tony Mazur is a long-time radio personality who is braving the fresh frontier of podcasts. He is also an stand-up comedian and actor, currently using his day job to supplement his passion in podcasting. He began his podcast in 2021 as a something-for-everyone show with a plethora of guests, but in recent years, it has evolved into more of a solo show where he comments on politics and pop culture, with the occasional guest sprinkled in. Tony doesn’t really hold back his opinions, much to the chagrin of his wife and his employer.

The Fast Fall of Fast Food 14.10.2026 58:57
Check Your Brain's Tony Mazur has been on the road of late, and he noticed how (with some exceptions) there are virtually no lines at fast food restaurants. McDonald's is trying to find out what happen, and their response seems to be to give up. Their stores are grey boxes with kiosks and without character, and that may be the way going forward. Have the younger generations risen up and said no to...
Woke 2.0 is Indistinguishable From Woke 1.0 07.10.2026 42:55
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently commented on how "crazy" everyone got during what's now called Woke 1.0. That means, what, Woke 2.0 is underway? When did 1.0 end and 2.0 begin? It seems Woke was never put away in 2024, and it's coming back with a vengeance. As Check Your Brain host Tony Mazur mentions in this episode, the last week has seen a broadcaster fired over old tweets and a #MeToo a...

The End of Monoculture 02.09.2026 44:13
Dolly Parton's death last week at age 80 signaled the end of what was called Monoculture. Today, due to demographics and technology, Americans don't collectively watch the same movies and shows, listen to the same music, or even consume the same news. The culture has been broken into thousands of subcultures, for better or worse, as Check Your Brain host Tony Mazur lays out in this week's episode....

Republicans Aren't Here to Save You, Either 12.08.2026 1:06:15
In a time where younger Millennials and Gen Z (those under 40) are concerned about the rising cost of goods, including $20 burritos, even the conservatives thumb their noses at the youth, believing them to be lazy and wanting their avocado toast handed to them. As Check Your Brain host Tony Mazur points out, rather than ignore the pleas of the young, perhaps try listening to them. Maybe the deck i...
Prepare For the Pivot 05.08.2026 1:01:39
It's pretty obvious to most that the Republicans will get walloped in the midterms. They had the House, Senate, presidency, and two-thirds of the Supreme Court, yet they prioritized another country's interests (and megadonors) over their own. Check Your Brain's Tony Mazur believes the Republicans will inevitably walk back the talk of mass deportations, even though that is betrayal of the highest o...

From 2021 - Interview with David Fantle (RIP) & Tom Johnson 01.07.2026 1:10:36
(Replay from 2021) In the days before Twitter and Instagram, fans would have to pen a personal letter to their favorite celebrity, stamp it, send it through the postal service, and MAYBE said celeb has a chance at reading it, AND THEN the opportunity a response will be sent is quite minuscule. David Fantle and Tom Johnson were so obsessed with the golden age of Hollywood that, as teenagers, they...

The Music Industry's Slow & Painful Demise 13.05.2026 58:47
Prior to Napster and LimeWire, the music industry seemed to be a cash cow. Everyone wanted in. But in the world of streaming, artists are making literal pennies on the dollar. Some bands will need tens of thousands of listens and likes to make a paycheck. The music industry is broken, which is why Bruce Springsteen and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have cashed in their chips and sold their music catal...
