Benefit from the Bible

The Lutheran Reformation restored the biblical teaching that sinners are saved by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, as revealed in Scripture alone. Through the Augsburg Confession, we learn that God forgives our sins because of Christ's saving work and creates and strengthens faith through His Word and Sacraments.

This sermon introduces the key people, events, and problems that led to the Lutheran Reformation. Using Romans 3:21-28, it explains six areas needing reform and emphasizes that sinners are justified by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from good works.

Back to the Bible! Back to Christ!

From creation and humanity's fall into sin to Christ's saving work and promised return, God's plan leads to the complete defeat of sin, suffering, and death. Isaiah 25:6-9 assures believers that God will wipe away every tear, remove disgrace, and welcome His people into the joy and fullness of eternal life.

Every believer is precious to God, so Christians must humbly care for one another, avoid causing others to stumble, and lovingly seek those who wander from Christ. Jesus instructs His Church to confront sin, call sinners to repentance, offer forgiveness, and seek restoration, assuring believers of His presence as they carry out this responsibility.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:1-20 how to care about the eternal souls of believers who are drifting away from Him!
