The Deuce is under a lot of pressure in "Morta di Fame", as disease, drugs, greedy gangsters and corrupt politicians all angle to take a bite out of its inhabitants. It's hard to see how established players like Rudy, Vincent, and Paul are going to make it out okay, but there is a glimmer of hope that Frankie just might be able to survive by being to small time to worry about. Meanwhile on the Wes...

HBO's The Deuce is back! We rejoin our mixed crew of hustlers on the Eve of 1985. The strip itself seems a bit less bright, and a good deal more dangerous, even as powerful big-money interests have high-class aspirations for the neighborhood. This premiere is a marvel of efficient storytelling and character re-introductions, introducing various threats to the community; wolfpacks, AIDS, home video...

We went to see Chapter Two of Stephen King’s IT, and we were both kind of underwhelmed. We were both fans of the first installment, but unfortunately the great acting and interesting characterizations are undermined by hokey horror sequences and what feels like a lot of recycled material from Chapter One. We think it’s an okay film, not a very effective horror movie, and with the cast and material...

Harlots continues it's back-half swoon as things continue to not make much sense, and we're left with too few characters we genuinely care about. Sure, Lady Fitz's impulsive kiss of Nancy was exciting, but there are two many things happening because of happenstance, chance encounters, and nothing really feels like it has consequences. There is one more week for Harlots to right it's ship, but Ceci...

Margaret Wells leaves miles of burning human wreckage in her wake as she leaves the British Isles once more. We're hoping Lucy can right her personal ship with the advice and support of Pa North, but as eleventy million people have remarked this season, her neck seems destined for the noose, and the situation with her investment in the molly house isn't getting any less complex or fraught with per...

We've seen the first 3 episodes of The Terror: Infamy, the latest in the anthology from AMC and we're ready to give our initial impressions. Also, we invite producer of our new show Pickle Me This: A Rick and Morty Podcast and TV business writer for New York Post's DECIDER, Scott Porch, on the show to discuss Disney's announcement of the bundle price for their package of online streaming services....

A.Ron and Cecily converse about another crazy episode of Hulu's Harlots. Isaac gets pinched, Kate gets her second chance to make a first impression, Quigley is still getting the hang on this whole "loving people" deal, and Margaret does what Margaret does best; try to get herself and her loved ones killed in complicated revenge schemes! This podcast is sponsored by Away, offering first class lugga...

We went to go see Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw tonight, and it's awesome. You either love the F&F franchise or you don't, and if you love it like we love it this movie is going to satisfy. All the hallmarks are there; insane vehicular action, Loony Tunes meets Three Stooges approaches to violence, suspension of disbelief stretching feats of driving and other forms of derring doo. Maybe it...

SDCC came and went like the multi-billion dollar enterprise that it is, flooding our humble tubes with trailer upon trailer of new and returning television series, and we're here to talk about them ALL! (00:00:00) Then we discuss the new Amazon Prime Video series that tugs on Superman's cape; The Boys (00:40:36). Finally, we say a fond adios to Los Espookys (00:49:46). Can't wait to see what spook...

Cecily and A.Ron are back to mourn the loss of a pillar in the Harlots community. What an episode! We were having so much fun, on the edge of our seats, giggling over our muff pistols, eagerly anticipating what a flustercuck the boxing match at Lady Fitz' palace was shaping up to be, and then Harlots crossovered with Game of Thrones, and we're not talking in terms of Theon Greyjoy. It will be inte...

Welcome back to another edition of Bald Move TV! This week, we talk about Netflix's recent announcements that their Q2 numbers were looking soft in the US and around the globe (00:00:00), talk some details about HBO's new HBO MAX streaming service (00:20:39), before finally talking about David Harbour's new project, Frankenstein's Monster's Monster, Frankenstein (00:31:49). Jim and A.Ron have seen the "live-action" remake of The Lion King, but why? Why was this film made? I mean, we know the rea$on$ The Mouse is jamming this joyless attempt at cinema down our throats, but really, why? A stellar vocal cast can't even come close to making it worth it. It's hard to think of a more pointless endeavor, and it's \all down hill after the cold open. Stay at home, save your m...

Aron and Cecily are back to dish on Hulu's Harlots! Charlotte and Lady Fitz team up to pinch the Pinchers, Lady Quigley and Miss Bottomley are Straight Outta Bedlam, while Elizabeth, Fredo, and Lucy dress to the nines to establish their molly house. Also, Pa North is back, but Mama Wells remains unaccounted for. Perhaps the Pinchers' upcoming real estate deal in America will bring her back into pl...

A.Ron and Cecily are here to peddle podcasts for Hulu's very lush, very fun, Harlots, back now for it's third tawdry season. We run down all of our favorite characters and their positions and predicaments. How will Charlotte (Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown-Findlay) defend her burning bawdy house from the rash advances of London's latest pimp Isaac Pincher, played by the always punchable face of Alf...

We're doing something new on BMTV this week; talking about industry news! Netflix swears they have no plans for adding commercials to their service at any subscription level, while advertising execs say they're going to have to. Then we talk about HBO's odd little short musical by filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson and musician Thom Yorke, "Anima". Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/...

Jim and I had the pleasure of taking a European vacation with Spider-Man: Far From Home. Just when you wonder how Marvel will pick up the pieces and continue from Endgame, the drop a super fun Spider-Man sequel on us that manages to be just as delightful as the first with even more heart. Jim, A.Ron, and Cecily are back to round up television for the week! We run silent and run deep on Hulu's new WW2 submarine drama, Das Boot (00:01:34) before viewing the Brazilian political documentary Edge of Democracy (00:14:17), before Cecily pitches Netflix's Dark to us (00:32:31), and finally Cecily and I talk briefly about our feelings on NBC's The Good Place (00:46:23).  Frankly, we were prepared to be mildly disappointed and to cluck our tongues at the Mouse and wag our fingers at all of his hubris as we sat down to watch Toy Story 4. Nobody asked for this sequel. It was foolish to get this franchise out of the vault after you delivered an absolutely perfect trilogy with the most beautiful ending you could ask for. But you know what? They did it. Toy Story 4 can...

Jim, A.Ron and Cecily put season five of Netflix's Black Mirror to bed as we talk about the final episode, "Rachel, Jack and Ashlee Too". Then we check out the latest products of Netflix's global reach, the supernatural high school fantasy of Jinn (00:10:59), as well as the Indian dystopia of Leila (00:19:03). Finally, we look at the new HBO documentary, "Ice on Fire" (00:31:47), and consider some...

Jim and I have seen the latest installment in the long running Men in Black franchise, Men in Black: International. And it's okay. It's fun and entertaining, largely because Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth are fun and entertaining people who have an easy chemistry. The plot is twisty, but not very smart, and the whole thing just struggles to find the big red "hyperspace" button that would get i...
