‘Tis an ill portent when Jimfiel deems another episode of TROP as a “Walking Dead” episode. But don’t worry, there are good things too! Galadriel is doing some bad guy stuff and Isildur seems like he’s vying for the role of Numenorean f-boi. A.Ronbrimbor ponders the questions, “Are the Numenoreans nearsighted? And which horse is Berek?” And yes, the show is still gorgeous.   Want more lore? Check...

Should epic fantasy shows have required homework? Well, not homework exactly, but should you need to do research to understand what’s going on? We're rereleasing our episode on The Princess Bride (1987) in honor of the movie's 35th anniversary! This was a long time coming. Jim has avoided seeing this movie for going on 30 years. Today, he has no where to run, no where to hide. He's locked in a steel cage match with "The Princess Bride", directed by Rob Reiner and based on the novel of the same name by William Goldman. Confronted by the be...

The kids are not alright, not with parents like these. Join us as we welcome the new players in the cast and buy a ticket for the Queen Alicent hate-train. What’s up with the Targaryen genetics? How many hands and “hands” can Vicerys lose before we lose him? And will no one think of the children?! Want to represent Team HOTD? Check out the new merch in the Bald Move store! A.Rondork and Jimbella are here to tell you about the good moments and a few moments to grumble about. Some speeches come a bit short of Independence Day level of inspiration, but nothing comes close to the magic of the relationship between Elrond and Durin. When Galadriel isn’t writing checks she can’t cash, she and the other Elves seem to be operating in stark black and white. So where does that...

Westeros Punnett squares might not actually be squares? Maybe more like circles because of the incest? What exactly is Daemon up to? We can’t be sure, and the show is doing that on purpose. Tensions run high when spurned lovers reach a breaking point and we get a Red-ish Wedding. Maybe an orange wedding? Explore these questions and more in this episode of feedback.  Want to represent Team HOTD? Ch...

Harwin stans unite! On an episode that’s even better with a second watch, there’s plenty to unpack. We get to see that Mushroom’s tales contain more truth than expected. Spurned lovers, bereft royalty, and ineffective runic armor all spell trouble in Westeros. Clutch your pearls like Alicent and hold on tight. Want to represent Team HOTD? Feedback is coming in from all ends of the spectrum. Is Galadriel just a hot-headed teen who needs to cool off with 1,000 years of jail time? Or is this a good portrayal of a young Galadriel who will become the powerful and wise Galadriel in the movies? And if you watch picture-in-picture, don’t do it around Jim and A.Ron. They may go feral.  Want more lore? Check out the Lorehounds and get the in...

You all have a greyscale obsession…which is a symptom of greyscale! I checked the Fire and Ice wiki, so you can trust me. Now, who’s ready for more secrets and spurned lovers? It’s not Four Weddings and A Funeral, no, no. The funerals in this show are sure to outnumber the weddings.  Want to represent Team HOTD? Check out the new merch in the Bald Move store! The dwarves are possibly the best part of this show. Who else wants to see a dwarf scale a rock face? Galadriel gets some sense knocked into her head between those prosthetic ears. But do the writers have the sense to write the nuances that political allegory requires? Follow along Galadriel’s journey as the OG horse girl makes her way through this (still) very beautiful show. The feedback bag is bulging, time to cut it open! A helpful listener clears up the “Yes, sir” vs. “Yes, ma’am” business. An observant listener points out the title of the show is actually GOT: HOTD, so it is totally appropriate to ask people if they have HOTD. And a confused Jim wants to know what “riding a dragon” truly means.  Don’t forget to grab your HOTD merch at merch.baldmove.com.  Question...
