Bald Move Pulp

A dense fog sits on the water as you stand on the bow of a creaking ship. Footsteps approach from behind! Out of the fog emerges Captain A.Ron and First Mate Jim. They’re here to break down the show 1899 from the creators of Dark. Get a rundown of the characters, overview of the plot of the first two episodes, and a beginning to theory crafting that is sure to get out of hand.  Check out some of t...

We're one episode away from the end. Somehow it feels like the show is dragging its feet but in other ways it feels like it's moving too fast for its own good. Join us on the podcast to find out what we thought about the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead! A big thank you to Mysteriana for creating the Watching Dead theme music. Find all of their music at MysterianaMusic.com Check out https:/...

The awesome presence of Chadwick Boseman is definitely missed, but don’t let that get you too down! Marvel produces yet another gem (or Infinity Stone, ha ha) for their catalog. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is an action-packed movie that also explores delicate levels of grief AND delivers on great CGI. The astounding performances from Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, and Lupita Nyong’o will have...

Kim Renfro, entertainment reporter for Insider and co-host of A Cast of Kings joins A.Ron to talk about the book reader perspective on this season of HOTD. We talk the impact of the Song of Ice and Fire prophecy on the show and how it might connect with the other GOT spinoff series, compare notes on what it's like to be the book reader with a non-reader co-host, discuss GRRM finishing the books an...

All rise for the honorable judges A.Ron and Jim. Eugene, minus the bolo tie, is on trial. The charges? Lot’s of bad stuff. But the real thing on trial today is this show. Our faith in a satisfying ending is shaken. But can the entertaining moments redeem a potentially disastrous episode?  Hopes, dreams, nightmares about TWD? Send them in to watchingdead@baldmove.com. A big thank you to Mysteriana...

It was a tale of two houses, one Green and the other Black. To our delight, the GOT universe made a triumphant return to the small screen. From enormous time jumps, rotating cast members, and a great expansion on lore, I think we can agree the season pulled off some impressive plays. As we eagerly await the next season, let's dive back into the first once again. Get your final thoughts in for the...

The last episodes are upon us. We got some really great questions and some critical, but deserved, feedback. Let’s dive in! You’ve heard of Hot Girl Summer, what about Hot Zombie Summer? The flies are killer. How many spinoffs are still in the running? And are we going to see some characters in Europe?  Hopes, dreams, nightmares about TWD? Send them in to watchingdead@baldmove.com. A big thank you...

The show is still staggering on. You saw a slick heist in Ocean’s 11, now get ready for a heist that’s nothing like that. And remember that motorcycle chase from The Great Escape? Try to forget you ever saw that cool thing before watching this episode. What is really keeping us on the edge of our seats is trying to figure out which kid is doing the voice over.   Hopes, dreams, nightmares about TWD...

Now that the first season is in the rear view, let’s talk about it! Should you read the books? Who took the first shot in this war? Were the Targaryens always fated to fight? Can a rider breathe at dragon cruising altitude? Is Aemond a warrior or idiot kid who can’t control his emotions? King Jimhaerys and Ser A.Ron are here to impart their wisdom.  We’ll have a HOTD wrapup episode out next week! ...

War is coming to Westeros. Queen Rhaenyra does her best to prevent a schism in the kingdom. It’s not easy when your husband is Daemon. Luke doesn’t want to be the Lord of Driftmark, he won’t have to worry about that anymore. It’s the end of the season, but the start of the war. While we wait for season 2 check out the other Bald Move Pulp episodes on all your favorite shows.  Get your final though...

“I am glad you are here with me. Here at the end of all things.” - Frodo. Ok, so not the end of ALL things, but it’s the end of the season. As we reflect on our return to Middle Earth, we take a look at a season that had its ups and downs. From pyroclastic clouds to the buddy show of Durrin and Elrond, let’s take one last deep dive.  Want more lore? Check out the Lorehounds and get the inside scoo...

Let’s play “Cool or Cringe”! The glowing table? Cool! Daemon singing to the dragon? Neutral. The sapphire eye? Cool! A.Ron and Jim doing Otto impressions. Cringe. It all comes to a fiery finale with plenty to look forward to in next season. Prove you are leal, listen to this episode.  Check out the Keepin’ It Leal shirts in the Bald Move Merch Store to declare your fealty. Want to represent Team H...

What has been lost? The characters' humanity. What has been found? Several knives. Feral Daryl has some great line readings for you. There’s no law and order in this world, just random shout outs to thoracic surgeons. Why do we have a shout out to a thoracic surgeon? No reason maybe. And do NOT think of the children. Don’t you dare. Hopes, dreams, nightmares about TWD? Send them in to watchingdead...

Ok. Um, ok. Here we go. DC hasn’t quite cracked the Marvel formula for making fun movies. It begs the question, can the most charismatic man on the planet pull off DC’s latest deep cut? Black Adam owes some copyright fines to all those superheroes that you actually like. It’s not great, but it bolsters the Rock’s standing in the Bald Move Badass Hall of Fame…so there’s that!   Keep watch for the n...

Get a rundown of the real life badass twins out there. Wondering how Daemon ended up with Lady Royce to begin with? Rhaenys’ dragon maneuver may have greater consequences in the fandom than the writers intended. Keep it leal with both Team Black and Team Green perspectives represented with King Jimhaerys and Ser A.Ron.    Want to represent Team HOTD? Check out the new merch in the Bald Move store!...

It is the hour of the owl and foul deeds are afoot. Should Rhaenyra abdicate and save the realm from bloodshed? Even if that leaves the realm in the hands of (gulp)...Aegon? Was the dragon the only beast beneath the boards? King Jimhaerys and the leal Ser A.Ron are here to answer those questions and possibly yuck your yum.  Want to represent Team HOTD? Check out the new merch in the Bald Move stor...

We got a lot of answers in the finale. But were they satisfying answers? Listen in on some of the closing theories about this season and the next. Are there more half-elves running around? Will Jeff Bezos make a cameo? A.Ron has a Swedish Death Metal song for you. And don’t forget to send in your feedback for the final wrapup episode. Want more lore? Check out the Lorehounds and get the inside sco...

Can you be into feet and not be creepy about it? We thought Daemon was a wild card, but it looks like Rhaenys is vying for the role. With the stage suspiciously devoid of Rhaenyra and Daemon, we get a very personal look into the chaotic lives of Team Green.  Want to represent Team HOTD? Check out the new merch in the Bald Move store! Theme song: Game of Thrones (80's TV Theme) by Highway Superstar...

Ye Olde spectacle, The Walketh Dead, is up to shenanigans again. Do you like Ren Fairs? This show does too. Are the walkers getting smarter? If that’s the case, Jim would like to see zombie trebuchets. And is Princess ok? Mercer might be one of those emotional vampires draining her. Hopes, dreams, nightmares about TWD? Send them in to watchingdead@baldmove.com. A big thank you to Mysteriana for cr...

The power has been restored to this show. Great sacrifices are made, destinies intertwined, and identities revealed. Though original Tolkien lore was trampled a bit, it was a job well done all around. We’re looking forward to seeing our heroes and villains in the next season. And don’t miss the feedback and wrap up episode next week!  Want more lore? Check out the Lorehounds and get the inside sco...

King Jimherys and Ser A.Ron are keepin’ it leal. Though Team Black is looking pretty cool, we’re trying to give Team Green a fair shake. Is GRRM fixing the universe's history? Could abdication have saved the realm? And did any of us really believe that Rhaenys was over not getting the crown? Want to represent Team HOTD? Check out the new merch in the Bald Move store! Theme song: Game of Thrones (8...

This is the sizzle before the scorching fire. Is Viserys your favorite character now, too? Alicent is more dangerous than before. Rhaenyra and Daemon are already quite the pair. Having twins in the Kingsguard was clearly a play by Viserys to have his own campy 90s movie setup. And could someone write a concise guide to the names of these characters? Jim has had enough.  Want to represent Team HOTD...

We’re careening towards the end of the first season of HOTD and the drama just keeps getting hotter. A.Ron warms up to the Melisandre theory. Who is under the Assassin’s Creed cloak? Did you know that dragon eggs each come with a matching leather purse? The Instant Talk podcast is our after show, with our own quick thoughts about the episode followed by an interactive chat discussion with our fans...

Watch out WWF because it seems like TWD is trying to replace you. With lots of people lending a helping hand, this episode is filled with nice moments where we get to see the characters connect. It doesn’t matter if you’re in Westeros or Alexandria, if you’re a bastard child, your DNA will rebel against receiving the mantle from your parent-figures. And buckle up for Jim’s wild food theories and r...

What? Why? Who? Just a few questions we have about The Rings of Power. This is the tale of two shows, one is super fun, the other is the show we’re getting. But we won’t let the ash cloud rain on our parade! The buddy show that is Durin and Elrond’s friendship is still top tier entertainment. And finally, A.Ron and Jim unveil their Orc Voices.  Want more lore? Check out the Lorehounds and get the...
