AZC Precepts and Buddhist ethics
The Sixteen Precepts are descriptions of the ethical behaviour that is the foundation of all Buddhist practice. At each Jukai Ceremony (Taking-the-Precepts Ceremony), we renew our commitments to these Precepts. In these talks, Roshi Amala Wrightson discusses the precepts in depth, and also introduces the Jukai Ceremony.

The Buddhist Precepts are at the core of the Great Way and have their origins in the 8-fold Path. The version that we say can be found in the Brahma Net Sutra, translated into Chinese by Kumarajiva in the 4th Century CE.
