Antlerless Podcast

In this Antlerless episode, Andrea and Draya switch roles! Draya gets Andrea to talk about all of the gritty details about what it took to find a bull deep in the backcountry as well as what it took to get him home.

In this Episode, Andrea talks more with Draya Grangroth from Ridge Patrol clothing. They share their Spring turkey stories, big game plans for fall, and talk about the new Ridge Runner 2.0 pants from Ridge Patrol. She needs YOUR help with their Kickstarter to get this awesome updated pant into your hands! See the links below to learn more.  Ridge Patrol Clothing Ridge Runner 2.0 Pant Ridge Patrol...

In this episode, Andrea muses about why people get so bent out of shape about predator hunting and why she's not qualified to come to her own conclusions based on available peer reviewed research about wildlife management. Then, she walks through how her season and hunting style evolved as she progressed into winter.  Andrea's current "hunting" boots:  https://www.topoathletic.com/W-Trailventure-2...

In this episode, Matt joins Andrea to talk about his elk hunt, Squirrel Team Six, and her whitetail hunt... which, while it didn't result in any venison for the freezer, definitely yielded some wild public land stories.

This is the 3rd and final episode about Andrea's first archery deer and elk hunt. She talks about what makes her good at living (mostly) alone in the backcountry, a wild game exchange with her camp neighbors, more moose stories, hunting low, hunting high again, and finally getting a shot.

It's time to get to the hunt- Andrea and Matt discuss how the first week-ish of hunting went. Andrea's memory gets foggy, stories get mixed around, but Matt helps her keep it going. During the first week there was deer drama, storm drama, grouse drama, moose drama, and elk drama. Animals were spooked and tears were shed. Listen in to hear how it went and to get Andrea's off-the-cuff recipe for bac...

Welcome back, Antlerless fans! First off, we'll warn you- Andrea's voice is not great at long bouts of talking, so these episodes are going to be chopped up into digestable bites (definitely heavy on the "chopped" part, as you'll hear at the end of this one).  This episode, she and Matt discuss the year (yes, YEAR) of preparation for Andrea's first archery hunt. You'll hear talk about bow/arrow se...

In this episode, Matt joins Andrea again to chat about the recent happenings in a Wyoming court case involving four hunters that were charged with criminal trespassing after they corner crossed over private land without actually touching it. Then, Andrea talks about her turkey hunting success. They also discuss shed hunting and their hopes for their limited draw big game tags.

Content Warning- this show includes discussion about childhood sexual abuse and growing up in an environment of religious fundamentalism.  This episode, I talk to Dreya Grangroth. She's a hunting guide for Bear Creek Outfitters in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, co-owner of Ridge Patrol clothing, and future author. Listen in to hear her story about growing up in a strict religious family, and how hu...

We mix it up a little for episode three and talk to Troy Fowler, a.k.a. the Ranch Fairy. Troy runs a YouTube channel dedicated to the in vivo research of building the deadliest arrows possible. We discuss how people who are on the lower draw weight/draw length end of the archery spectrum can get their arrows dialed in to provide the greatest penetration possible on the animals they hunt.  Troy is...

This week, I talk to Cindy Stites. She's an avid hunter, outdoorswoman, writer, and teacher. We chat about a wide range of topics- how she started hunting as an adult, her dream of starting a non-profit program to teach people about hunting and the outdoors, how to find equipment that works when you're not "average dude" size, and how to cook up a mess of squirrels.  You can find Cindy's work at h...

This is a shortie- I talked to my dad about the first time I went hunting with him, got his advice to other parents that have a daughter who wants to hunt, and heard about his most eventful hunting trip.  Join our Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/justridingalong Find everything else JRA-Related here:  https://linktr.ee/justridingalongoutdoormedia
