The Whisper Man [NETFLIX] Review: A Killer Premise Wasted 14.10.2026 43:50
The Whisper Man gives Clay a killer father-son premise, strong Adam Scott and Michelle Monaghan performances, and Robert De Niro playing the most Robert De Niro version of Robert De Niro. Unfortunately, Netflix also delivers fading momentum, familiar serial-killer tricks and lighting dark enough to trigger a television warranty claim. Final rating: 5.5/10.
Is This Thing On? [DISNEY+] Review: The Comedy Ben Simmons 09.10.2026 25:11
Bradley Cooper’s Is This Thing On? understands the addictive joy and public humiliation of starting stand-up. Clay reviews Will Arnett and Laura Dern’s marriage comedy, revisits killing at his first open mic and bombing at the second, then explains how he briefly became the comedy Ben Simmons. Final rating: 7/10.
Presumed Innocent [APPLE TV] Review: Deny Till You Die 30.09.2026 39:26
Jake Gyllenhaal is excellent in Presumed Innocent, but Clay isn’t convinced this murder mystery needed eight episodes to reach three minutes of truth. Also: broken knees, an audience that laughed exclusively through email, the AFL Grand Final and a Z Boys trip now powered by Hydralyte and emotional honesty. No numerical rating or snack pairing was stated in the recording.
Wildcat [PRIME VIDEO] Review: Kate Beckinsale Gets the Action Right 23.09.2026 42:08
Kate Beckinsale’s Wildcat gave Clay what he wants from an action movie: fights he can actually see. He reviews James Nunn’s new-to-Prime Video thriller, its familiar rescue mission, uneven tonal shifts and surprisingly rewatchable action, then compares it with Normal and Reacher. Final rating: 7/10. He forgot his actual snack, but recommends Jelly Babies after the fact.
The Watcher [NETFLIX] Review: Seven Episodes, No Answer 16.09.2026 51:03
Seven episodes of suspects and The Watcher still couldn’t give Clay the closure he wanted. He reviews Netflix’s Bobby Cannavale and Naomi Watts mystery, the unsolved true story behind it, and why its fictionalised ending earned 3.5/10—even with his extra point for a true story. Also: Kenny learns to ride on two wheels and helps deliver Bung Bung Coffee flyers. Spoilers and explicit language.
Normal [PRIME VIDEO] Review: All Violence, No Plot 02.09.2026 50:54
Bob Odenkirk shoots his way through Normal, a Prime Video action-comedy with entertaining violence and barely enough plot to sustain a plot hole. Clay also survives a $264 Henley Beach lunch, identifies a suspected college thief and debates whether children’s birthday parties have finally become enjoyable. Snack pairing: Froot Loops. Final rating: 5.5/10.
Anaconda [PRIME VIDEO] Review: A Killer Python Was the Highlight 27.08.2026 1:04:19
Jack Black and Paul Rudd should be able to make a giant-snake comedy work, but Anaconda left Clay with weak effects, a thinner story and almost nothing worth remembering. Also: Clay lands a speaking role in a movie, Kenny discovers Derrick Rose, and a king brown snake ends the Couchboys’ pool era. Final rating: 4.5 Killer Pythons out of 10.
Kevin Hart vs Gen Z: 72 Hours [NETFLIX] Review 19.08.2026 33:03
Is 72 Hours worth watching? Clay reviews Kevin Hart’s Netflix comedy about a desperate middle-aged executive crashing a Gen Z bachelor party, including its Hangover -style chaos, young comedy cast and the heavily discussed Katt Williams appearance. Follow Welcome to the Poddy for weekly comedy, movie and television reviews.
Your Friends & Neighbors [APPLE TV]: Jon Hamm Robs the Rich 12.08.2026 56:11
Clay reviews Your Friends & Neighbors , the Emmy-nominated Apple TV drama starring Jon Hamm as a disgraced hedge-fund manager who starts robbing the wealthy people in his neighbourhood. The show opens up a bigger conversation about money, class, insecurity, keeping up appearances and why growing up without much can completely scramble your relationship with success. Clay also covers his copyri...
Happiness (1998) [YOUTUBE] Review: The Darkest Comedy Ever Made? 05.08.2026 52:37
Is Happiness the darkest comedy ever made—or the funniest film you’ll feel guilty recommending? Clay reviews Todd Solondz’s controversial 1998 cult film, including Philip Seymour Hoffman’s painfully uncomfortable performance, the brilliant opening breakup and the loneliness hiding beneath its most disturbing characters. There’s also a failed Keith Robinson interview, Patrice O’Neal movie lore, a 5...
Shelter [PRIME VIDEO] Review: Jason Statham Retires Again 30.07.2026 42:11
Jason Statham is back as a retired elite operative with a violent past—and somehow nobody leaves him alone. This week, Clay reviews Shelter (2026), the Jason Statham action thriller now streaming on Prime Video. Is it worth watching, or is it just The Beekeeper with a lighthouse? Clay breaks down the remote-island opening, Statham’s one-man war against MI6, the car chase, nightclub fight, familiar...
The Old Guard 2 Review: Netflix Made a 100-Minute Trailer 22.07.2026 34:12

The sequel gives us Charlize Theron, Uma Thurman, immortal warriors and centuries of revenge—then makes it feel like a 100-minute trailer for another movie. Clay also opens two sold-out James McCann shows, takes over an unattended bar, pays $39 for p...
Jay Kelly [NETFLIX] Review: Fame, Fatherhood & Regret 16.07.2026 44:02
Jay Kelly review and ending explained: George Clooney plays a movie star confronting fame, fatherhood, regret and the family he neglected on his way to the top. Adam Sandler might quietly give the best performance in the entire Netflix film. Welcome to the Poddy is officially back. In this episode of Welcome to the Poddy , we’re reviewing Woman of the Hour (Netflix), a true crime thriller that somehow mixes murder, dating, and Anna Kendrick’s relentless quirkiness. This satirical film review dives into the bizarre r...
