Tuonela

Single take hand-made glitchscape based on a previous track, with some post-production fiddling, double-tracking etc

I won’t be able to see this, if it actually uploads properly. My computer is nearly as ancient as I am and still runs Windows 7, and can’t be upgraded. I can’t be the only one in this position… ? A lot of software and sites I use have ceased support for Windows 7, I get that. A replacement computer is long overdue. But SoundCloud is the only site which has shut me down completely, without any warn...

Iron repose by Tuonela

It was an impulse thing. I listened to https://soundcloud.com/voidbornhorde/leadrain, loaded it into ambient v.03 software, rode the controls and this was the result, unedited. Just like the old days :)

Made for Naviar Records' 651st Haiku Challenge.

I had made a rather disappointing track which sounded a bit like a half-full oil drum being dragged up a gravel drive and was about to delete it when I saw this assignment and set out to create something I could use over it. Sort of make it the driveway for another sound completely. Something almost musical was created using ZynSub, then treated with ambient software, cut up, reprocessed and laid...
