The Outer Reels

Jason was happy to revisit this classic from 1979, but Sam wasn't having it. As tends to happen, we digress a lot, but Sam encouraged it this time, even though he loves his San Francisco movies. Also, you won't believe who Sam's accountant is! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This is a meditation on regaining your faith..? Sam liked it more than Jason who saw the "twist" from the start. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We had fun with this fast-paced directorial debut from Michael Crichton: 1972's made-for-TV "Pursuit". Look for a blink-and-you'll miss him cameo from pre-famous Martin Sheen! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

For the last movie in our season of selections from Action Smacked, we watched Roller Blade from 1986. It's a trip, and we still don't really know what happened. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

If you can make it to the end of this Action Smacked pick, you might actually enjoy this family affair. Bonus old phone story time from Sam, and the usual gushing about Tango and Cash Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

There's multiple versions (and titles!) of this movie and all seem to be a mess, but this guy has made a movie and we haven't, so it's got that going for it! Buckle up, this is a long one. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This movie is WILD. It's not a good movie, but we still had some fun with this boxing Blaxploitation film from '82. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Another fun pic from Action Smacked, though Jason enjoyed this more than Sam did (but Jason is also a pervert). Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Another pick from Action Smacked, but with a twist: Jason already owned this on DVD. This movie is terrible in the most wonderful ways but we also talk a lot about Robocop because how can you NOT? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We continue with our season of movies selected by Action Smacked. We had a lot of fun with this exploitation classic, even if it technically gave Jason serious anxiety. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We start a new season where Jeff Kirschner from Action Smacked picks the movies for us. This week we start with a doozy: 1988's Lady Terminator, out of Indonesia. Is it more than just a Terminator rip-off? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam (shockingly) enjoyed this more than Jason, but this live-action Japanese co-pro from Rankin Bass does have some charm. Warning: we digress A LOT on this one. #anythingbutcobra Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam liked this a lot more than Jason, but it's still a fun watch and has a hell of a title song! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Jason spends more time talking about comic books thank he does this "superhero" movie out of 80's India. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Jason was almost dead for this episode, so apologies on how bad he sounds, but he did come up with quite the find: We watched a version of this movie that was terrible quality, but it still managed to impress us. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

If this was Samurai Encino Man, it would have been a far better movie. Listen in while we discuss what wasted opportunity this movie was and still wish there was a sequel to watch. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We were initially excited by this odd offering from Spain, but ultimately were let down. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Not only does Sam not understand Geography, but he doesn't care about history, either. We continue our Street Fighter 2 map with Sam's Chinese pick, 1982's Mad Mission, which is actually out of Hong Kong. It's really dumb but still a lot of fun. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam hates this classic movie out of the USSR, but Jason knows it's a work of art. Things kinda spiral out of control from there. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

First off, Sam doesn't understand geography, as we're doing a movie from Taiwan in place of one from Thailand. Having said that, this movie is WILD. Just do your best to get through the "story" parts. Also don't tell PETA about this. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam didn't like this one, but Jason thinks it's better than it should have been. There's also a lot of talk about things that aren't this movie, more so than usual, at least. This is a long one, so get comfortable... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This is the first of Sam's "Street Fighter 2" season, where we follow the game's map with a movie from each country. Really, it's just an excuse for Sam to be able to pick an American movie for a change, so sit back and try to enjoy Mindwarp! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This week we take a look back at our first 48 episodes and do a review of each season. Hopefully you won't be bored. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We interview ozploitation legend, Brian Trenchard-Smith (see half of our Australian episodes in season 2!). Brian is (obviously) an amazing storyteller, touching on his novel "Alice Through the Multiverse", getting his start in editing movie trailers, and the move into feature films. Be sure to check out his memoir, "Adventures in the B Movie Trade." Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more...

Sam has a lot to say, including how much he loves League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. No, seriously. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
