The Outer Reels

Lots of mistakes are spoken in this episode, starting with Sam giving the wrong episode number and Jason not knowing his grandson's actual age. Regardless, this movie charmed us but DAMN does it move fast off the top. We also somehow talk longer than the actual runtime of this movie, so sorry about that. Hosted on Acast. Listen in to hear us talk about what's a borderline Outer Reels All-Star movie, but stay for Sam's conspiracy theories. Still, it charmed us. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Jason wishes he was watching Automan instead of this movie about women with boring super powers. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This movie has an incredible cast, is easily the biggest budget movie we've ever covered, and it's all wasted. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Start with Lost, add Gilligan's Island, take away all the fun, and you're left with this dry husk of a movie. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Stacy Keach is a General who's also a Satanist Nazi. What more do you want?!? Also, we're going to educate you on Canadian Tire. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We had a hard time following this one, even after finding out it was based on a book from 1887?!? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

"There is just enough confusing things, but just enough competency where I was like, oh! I'm really curious how they're going to figure this out or explain this. Then they don't." Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We were charmed by this very early Roger Corman film, even if we think it should have been better served as a Twilight Zone episode. Which, of course, leads to lots of Twilight Zone talk. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This one was ALMOST good, but doesn't quite come together. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We were completely charmed by this one, which isn't unexpected given its deserved cult status. Do yourself a favour and watch the movie before you listen to this episode! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Listen in to hear Jason talk about the comic this movie inspired and Sam to explain the connection to Tango and Cash, because all things in Sam's mind lead to Tango and Cash. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

While Sam would rather talk about My Science Project, we persevere. Listen in to hear about an amazing cast, all of whom would go on to do many, better things. Oh, and there's more comic talk! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This one is WILD. It's a hodge-podge of almost every Roger Corman film you've (n)ever seen, morphed into some kind of narrative that doesn't really even try to make sense. . Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Wait. Robert Altman? PAUL NEWMAN?!? How have we never heard of this before? Well, now we know why. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam talked about this one for a while, and after a bit of an adventure we were finally (unfortunately?) able to watch it. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This is actually called "H.G. Wells' The Shape of Things to Come", but it has nothing to do with the H.G. Wells novel. Also, this is hot garbage, but Jack Palance does wear a cape. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Come to hear us try and understand this movie that we could barely hear, but stay for Sam's story about his dad designing a new motorcycle engine! Oh, and shockingly Jason develops a crush on our lead French actress. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The people who made this movie appear to have hated it, but we found a lot to like, even if it's not a sequel to Death Race 2000. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam does it again in forgetting what the actual theme of the season is, though he's quick to point out that there is now a quarry in downtown LA, so it's close enough? Plus, David Carradine phones this in, but still manages to elevate it past where it should be. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This one is wild, and we both had a lot of fun it it's insanity. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam thought he had a post apocalyptic movie, but it turns out to just be a dystopia. Meanwhile, Jason is sorry he was sick (again). Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

For our 100th episode Jason subjected to Sam, who decided half way through he had talked enough about this movie and would rather talk about everything else we've done. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We have been introduced to the work of Steve Barkett, and this will NOT be the last. And welcome to The Outer Reels, Sid Haig!  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We pour one out for the demise of Cannon Films before we get into things on Steel American Cyborg Warrior. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
