The Frankencast

If this week's movie isn't a Frankenstein story, it is at the very least a Frankenstein Monster of a story, mashing Faust, Picture of Dorian Gray, Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, and (yes, even) Frankenstein together into something that's also kind of the Rocky Horror Picture Show? It's the best kind of crazy mess. Join us at the Paradise where you definitely (probably) won't ge...

It's the most 1980s movie ever to be set in the 1800s! Join us as the "Every Breath You Take" guy makes monsters out of the Kurgan and the Flashdance girl. We were actually pleasantly surprised by the depth and resonance of this spiritual sequel to James Whale's Bride of Frankenstein that sort of paved the way for last year's Poor Things film. Please rate, review, and tell yo...

Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future installments. Join us on Patreon at  ...

"Do you think we're robot clean/ Does this face look almost mean/ Is it time to be an android not a man?" This week, it's time for some 60s space-age nonsense. So join us for bikini babes on the beach, a guy in a gorilla suit, rock-n-roll dance parties, and a bald little freak from space. And SO much archival B-roll. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subsc...

Do you hear that sound? Like glass cracking? I'm sure it's nothing. Join us as we celebrate the month of May with some untreated mental illness, a Central Casting 80s punk, and a dog that definitely (probably) had all four legs last time we checked. Here at the Frankencast, we've spent a lot of time talking about the Mother of Frankenstein, Mary Shelley, but we haven't really talked much about the Father of Frankenstein, James Whale. It's high-time we remedied that, so here we are talking about the Academy Award winning fictional retelling of the last days of Whale's life. Join us as we talk about some heavy topics and pay tri...

This week we're doing a somewhat overlooked late 80s action/revenge flick, and things get surprisingly deep. Join us as we sound 1,000 years old while talking about courtroom sketch artists and beepers and other rad classics of the 1980s. But there's a lot of really cool gory deaths? Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future installmen...

The Frankencast boys are back! We may have had to fight off a mummy to get here, but these are the lengths that we go to just to bring you all the Frankenstein content you crave. Join us at the Production Value Factory as we learn chloroform phonics, collect a big ol' pile of Chekhov's callbacks, and have a good old fashioned MONSTER FIGHT! Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be...

It's time to Take Care of Business with the King! Join us as we take a trip to a little nursing home in scenic Mud Creek, TX. Pick your favorite historical figure, fact or fiction, dress the part, and join us in the dining hall for some appropriately soft dinner, say around 4:00pm? We'll bring the stolen dessert, you bring the Battle Bed Pan. Oh, and happy... early April? Your Horror Hosts...

Sorry for making things weird. Join us this week as we see what Ken Russell imagines it was like at Villa Diodati as Mary Shelley was inspired to write Frankenstein. Turns out it's mostly like a bad drug trip with some horny moments in there to keep things interesting. Join us as we dance with a robot stripper, talk to our leeches, and finally get to see a depiction of Percy Shelley's famo...

Oh, hey, we found some footage. Wanna take a look at this footage that we found? Join us as we go on a hunt for the Blair Wi... uh, Frankenstein. It's basically a whole, uh, "project". Along the way, we'll meet a guy who is totally NOT Chekhov's Pedestrian, a guy who was just kickin' it with Frankenstein (and definitely NOT doing any meth), and a creepy doll in the world&...

This week we're taking a bit of a departure as we discuss this philosophical three-act chamber play that is somehow way more compelling than it has any right to be. Join us as the government steals our hard drives, we find the best desk to rage-smash, and we literally knock over the metaphorical bishop! Please rate, review, and tell your fiends.
