syndae Podcast

So, recently I mentioned that show, which definitely was sci-fi. Last week I watched another TV show, that started out as kind of film noir, but then surprisingly turned into sci-fi as well. Completely unnecessary in my opinion, as I liked the show up to this twist. A similar experience sometimes occurs with a song. It starts out great as space ambient, but then unexpectedly turns, for example, in...

Once a year, the vast amount of netlabels out there join in for a special day: the netlabel day. Same so in 2025, where they put out once again such a massive amount of releases that it is difficult to listen to them all in a week. I tried my best to select some of the cool releases fitting the style of syndae as close as possible. Tonight is the first bunch of songs from that occasion, and there...

After yet another busy week, I prefer a bit lighter evening. Especially, before hot and stormy weather reaches us on the weekend. Crazy world. Also crazy is that series I am watching, where people's brains get split to properly seperate work from life. Quite a popular show, it seems, which I only found out about as I watched a video by Charles Cornell, who was amazed by the tv's title theme. And I...

Have you heard of this 100 percent AI band that gained momentum the past weeks? I've seen several reports on this artificial artists on Youtube and it's quite astonishing how well their music is received. The Velvet Sundown was created completely from artificial intelligent sources, especially their music and their band photos. And still, people seemed to like it, as the numbers on Spotify and oth...

Are you nuts?! Whoever send the heatwave these days must be. But the uncountable number of degrees match with the world's recent politics as well. And that is all over the world. So, was everything better back in the days? Maybe not. But some really good comes from those golden days back last century, and that is the music inspiration, which I most times mention as traditional EM. And from those r...

There is a lot of heat out there. Well, I am not only talking about the weather, which is said to go up to 36 C next week. And I am not build for hot weather, I tell you that. And we do not have some AC around, either. Will be fun, or not. Beside that, the world is going crazier each day, building up another kind of heat. Last week, we had some nice and quiet ambient to get some mind rest. To kind...

Sunshine and peace is all I need currently. Being quite busy in my head and life being a bit unpredictable, it's those quieter moments that I relish a lot. Calming body and soul for while and let other things be what they are. It would be great if one could simply close one's eyes and the crazy world would go away. Well, it does not. But to me it seems important to find those silent spots in life...

Several years ago, I was co-funding a movie. Well, it was a crowdfunded flick with the sole purpose of making a cranzy movie thought out by a crazy mind. Now, if your life would be a movie, what part of the script would you alter? Would it be a great idea to remove some actions or hesitaions of yours that let to unfortunate situations? Or would cutting them make you become a different person? But...

This was definitely one beat speed week for me, at least at work with so many stuff to do. And all of the tasks were very urgent, of course. It's always at the end of the week or deadlines, when the need to finish up things suddenly appear on ones doorstep. And, thus, the choice of music was between some ultra ambient to cool down and some body moving sounds to power oneself out. For tonight I cho...

Yes, we are back. A short forced break, so it's the return of syndae, but also the return to the golden age of sequencing with this edition. This music is still one of the drivers for EM, serving some sounds that come in waves and simply pull you with them into the wonderful world of aural colours and natural rhythm of life. I think it's the ever steadiness of change that grabs me each time, when...

Sounds. They are all around us. Some squeak, some beep, some bug you, some you don't hear anymore. Imagine sitting at the beach, where the waves slowly wash over the shore. To me, this is joyful and relaxing. Or imagine being at a dwell, where water slowly pours into the early creek. This might really animate you to, well, err, wanna pee ... Ok, bad example. As with ambient music, there are sounds...

No, this is not the death star in some kind of invisibility cloak. Tonight, we have wonderful bubbles of colourful soundscapes for you waiting in this edition. And rightly so, as this week was fully packed with work related stuff for me. I need some rest, and I hope you are with me. Soap bubbles are fascianting objects. Especially in their play in light, where lots of little rainbows appear into b...

On this weeks list of todos were quite some interesting things. Had a lot of work at home to do and in my job as well. As always, the time you plan for finishing a job most often does not suffice. Or is this just me? Well, on some point in progress I encountered an issue that let me to rethink the whole approach. So it was not only the weather outside getting warmer, which is nearing the 30 C mark...

So, last weekend many of you celebrated the tradition of the resurrected egg-giving easter bunny... erm... I am sure to be confused a bit. But it surely was traditional. And we are on for tonight to enjoy something traditional electronic music, that I am sure about. It was back in the 80s, when I discovered this specific style of instrumental electronic music for myself and fell in love with it. O...

Yeah, I know, it might be a bit cheesy or rather eggy. But for tonight, right before eastern, I picked some easy eggs for you. So here we have some sound bunnies to please your ears and mind. For this, I picked eggstraordinary artists. And while the life outside seems to go nuttier each day, I hope you find some ease and comfort within the 60 minutes of pleasure sounds. Be in peace with your famil...

Had enough of the worldly turmoil? Want to relax and peace out for a while? Welcome to the show! And it is free, too. No costs. No tariffs. Just cool stuff to spend one our of your time on and enjoy. Some people may call it chill out. One could also call it thrill out. Or simply taking a bath in the wonderful world of electronic sounds. Yeah. I might sound a bit crazy tonight, but the world outsid...

While there are storms happening in the economic world, we gear down a lot and go for some serenity in this edition. Wouldn't it be nice to have humans be united and care for their kind and each other instead of looking for one's own advantage? Well, maybe not for some people. I don't know. Maybe life would be boring that way. I like boring, though. Na, not really. I prefer challenging sounds and...

Up next week is April fools' day. Are you in for making fun of people? By definition, it is the day of the year where practical jokes take over and one gets targeted with pranks, which sometimes seem real or get very close to reality. For some country, 2025 may have started as a fool's year, and may stay so for some while (no orange bun intended). But I am not going into politics here. This is a p...

It's space time! Well, at least for most of tonight's edition, where we will visit some of the famous space ships produced on earth. Well, in film and literature that is. Are you a science fiction or fantasy fan? It's fascinating that people are so intrigued by the stars and the universe and maybe alien life forms, while we still do not know about many places on earth. And while we definitely are...

Barely a week as gone since the Schallwelle awards were given to the winners in their respective categories. Tonight's edition focuses on the one's awarded. So you will get music by the best discovery for 2024, who is Betageist, the best artist national and international, who are Martin Stürtzer and Kebu, respectively, and the best albums national and international, which are 101, Milky Way by Kla...

So this is the last show before the Schallwelle awards ceremony, which happens to be tomorrow. So on Sunday we will know who the jury and the audience voted for best of their class in 2024. And while we celebrate all the good moments of the past, we look forward with going back to the future. That is traditional style electronic music being on in this edition, where we find space ambient or Berlin...

It's end of February, already two months into 2025, time for something compeletely different on syndae: song time. That is, music by ambient and electronic music artists going into lyrics or at least vocals. Yes, one of those rare editions with more than just me mumbling into the mic. The range of styles also is quite wide, some more into electro up to some experimental tracks. And I also use this...

After two rather soft sounding editions, tonight you will get some powerhouse stuff to massage your speaker membranes. Not all full edm, but a good measure of beats to tickle your ear drums. I cannot rule out that it's based to the fact that the current world politics infuse some aggressiveness to my thoughts. But pleasing those feelings by listening to music sounds not so wrong to me. At least it...

Some see it as romantic non-official holiday, some as some commercially induced tradition: Valentine's Day. Both may be right, but fact is that millions of people are out there to have a wondeful time with their partner in life. Or maybe with whomever they spend their current section in life with. Of course, on should celebrate relationships each day in life. One never knows, if and how long it la...

When I was younger I was a fanatic fan of swimming and diving. It always had a bit of being in space, "hovering" weightlessly over the ground, kind of flying like a bird. Not sure what made this stop when I got older. It is funny to think of water and air as so similar, except for their particle density. So are fish the equivalent of birds in water? Well, one might argue. However, this hovering in...
