So humans are back to the moon, or at least "going around" the moon. Is this the start of space businesses? Will we soon see adventures to colonize the moon or finally go for Mars (to save Mark Watney, of course)? Who knows? But the vast and mostly empty universe always is a fascinating place to dream about. So much so, that I will start a new chapter for syndae having some really ambient ambient...

What a tiring week this was. I had to travel to doctor appointments a number of times, which, especially with buses, seem to take ages. Not to mention the long waiting times at the doctor's. Well, at least I am lucky to have some healthcare at my living space, while some places do not or gete stripped of the ability to afford it. Some small issues with my vision and my voice, which you might proba...

This is an excerptional show you will find tonight, as it is edition 80-0 of syndae, which will feature a look back at the beginnings of electronic music as we share our love in. Right, back in those golden ages for EM some ingenious people started experimenting with electronic equipment and the like to invent a new style in sound and music, and lay the foundation for many more and, admittedly, mo...

Not sure, if I am influenced by the current situatino in the world, but tonight you will get some harder beat than usual. As a musician, you know about beat machines, and the tracks of this edition make surely use plenty of those. In theory, it is a simple thing. You got rows for each instrument, be it base or snare or high hat, and fill the grid's columns where they should hit. It does sound easy...

So, it's been two weeks since the Schallwelle awards have been handed to the respective winners. Tonight you will get music by (nearly) all of those proud winners in the first part of the show. Hip, hip, hooray. And in the second half of this edition you will get brand new music by more great artists, who might turn out to be the winners of awards to come. One never knows. At least, they serve exc...

It's been more than 20 years ago now that I've been living in Berlin. And while I seldom look or go back physically, maybe for a short visit now and then, I often do so in my mind. Especially, when listening to music from the Golden Age of EM, where many of the artists being in synthesized sounds "went" to its School. There are still several artists from the old guard out there, some still produci...

Is it Spring already? Nope, not quite. But the longing for Spring is there. At least where I live. Less darkness, more colours, happier people. And nature seems to be in the waiting as well, as some early blossoms are already out there and birds are singing along nicely. So, while we are moving forward and are eager to leave winter season, I have some beautiful tunes for you on the playlist tonigh...

It's awards season. Recently there were the Grammys, soon you will have the Oscars. In between, one of the most precious awards is given in an excellent ceremony held in Schwerte on February 21st: the Schallwelle for electronic music. If you can make it, come over to a beautiful and friendly event. Check out the link below on more information. Now, this edition's focus clearly is on the ceremony t...

With all the crazy stuff going about in the world, which seems to spin faster and more unpredictable each day, I definitely need some space to chill and relax tonight. But I cannot take ambient tonight, as I surely need some beats to match my head banging on the desk and wall listening to the news. Btw., the Schallwelle award ceremonies are up in three weeks. If you can make it, take your time to...

Currently, my weeks are packed with appointments. With all the traveling around, it is great to have some time to enjoy the silence, well, yeah, also Depeche Mode, but here I mean to get some rest and peace. What better to accompany this quantum of quiet than by treating my ears and brain with ambient sounds and compositions? Ok, it's not silencce after all, but it relocates my thinking in differe...

It have been some rocky past weeks with all the stuff happening around me and even more so around the world. One of the anchors keeping me grounded of course is my passion for electronic music. Another is, of course, my wife and her wonderful photos that I currently use for the show. Tonight's edition is quite a reflection of the other side my mind, after the rather calming one of the past two edi...

Whoa, what a great welcome back you gave me. Very much motivating to continue immediately with another compilation of fine electronic music, where this time we delve into the traditional and space ambient realm of our beloved genre. Very fitting, as I recently stumbled over quite a number of videos from live concerts, e.g. by TD, JMJ, and KS (you know who). The guests on this edition may not be th...

Are you having your hopes up for 2026? Well, I somewhat do, as the ending of the past year didn't sit well with me. Great to be back. Thank you for taking your time and staying true to syndae for 2025. And let's look forward to what the new version of the annual countdown brings. This is not only the first show for 2026 but also a first after some weeks of time off. On this edition you will get a...

Sometimes, life gets in the way of routine and living. Well, sounds a bit strange, but this time it hit me really hard. So for tonight, you will get the show actually intended for last week, which was nearly ready but then could not be published. This is a great show, though, not only because it contains some self-promotion. The songs for this one are really great and I love them all. Hence, I had...

This was quite an exhausting week, with lots of busy stuff going on at work and privately. Routine visits to doctors are quite... well... routine. But they do pose a bit of stress anyhow. So, here I am in need of some chillout time, and I hope you are up to join me. Especially, if you also had a stressful Halloween today, with all the kids in awkward dresses all over the place. Luckily, I can simp...

So, this was a timely surprise this week, when Klaus from Schallwende e. V. announced that the annual club CD is ready for shipment. Why am I excited? Because I, or rather Talking to Ghosts, made it onto that compilation once again. And it is always great to find your work appreciated, ain't it? Hence, I remodelled this edition of syndae last minute to let you know about this cool compilation and...

So, only one week at work after a short vacation, I am good for some quieter and relaxing sounds. Also fitting to a shimmer of hope to be found, at least so it seems. One never knows in this crazy world. Well, I hope you joined in good expectations to this edition, which will take us on a slower road tonight, although not too ambient, as usual. Also, there are quite some music events ahead, E-Live...

So, I was on a vacation spot the other day with my new laptop, which I especially bought for audio processing, when I found that playback in my application did not work anymore. Of course, it was short before Friday, which also got to be a bank holiday, so no chance of new equipment to be delivered. Nice. If only I had known that only one tiny audio cable was missing for everything to work as plan...

A slight sign of relieve on the horizon seeing a comedian I like being un-cancelled. At least for now. It's definitely no good sign for a nations health, when art gets cancelled out. May it be TV shows, books, paintings, or music. So, we should all be happy to live in a time and place, where we have personal freedom. And I hope, you will find some freedom in listening to this podcast as well. Ok,...

Oh, boy. These are dark times indeed, looking over the pond. I'm quite sorry for our musical friends overseas, in a country once glorified for its freedom and prosperity. Also for all the people that are living in unsafe spaces these days, where the future is kind of uncertain. So I hope to bring at least a glimmer into everyone's life by having some great electronic music on the show to please on...

This week actually started slow and easy, but turned to a turmoil of demands and tasks towards the end. As always is the case. If something becomes urgent, many other issues pile up and burry you with work. So, I am really happy the week came to an end today and the weekend is waiting up with some relaxing electronic circus festival to enjoy and relax. But before I can come to peace, I have to let...

Two interesting events are up soon, teaser for which will also open this edition. One of them in the UK, one in Germany, and both with great music. And if you cannot make it to the one in the UK, the Awakenings, do not hesitate to grab their virtual ticket, which serves one time cool live music from the event. The second is the planetarium show by Stefan Erbe, his kind-of world and space tour with...

Do you need some time off? Well, you are in the right place with this edition. In there, you will find no information about politic stunts, nothing on crazy leaders, and definitely no clickbaiting. It would be pure relaxation in a one hour mix, if it wasn't for me throwing in words on the artists and labels involved. Hope you don't mind. In the end, if you like what you hear, you can always go for...

As you may know by now, besides being a great fan of electronic-based music I am also a serials junkie. Recently, I watched quite a number of Anime. Because they are short (about 20 minutes per show) and sometimes really fun. Of course, I am also a fan of Scifi shows. But sometimes, it just does not work out. Being a fan of Star Trek, I tried watching the latest season of Discovery. Currently I am...

Exciting times ahead with the season of electronic music events in late summer and fall in Germany and the Netherlands. Three of them being featured in this edition showcasing some of the acts. First up being a new one (to me at least) named "Molk-e-tronica" with two days of cool artists. Second the Dutch Electronic Masters series being continued for 2025 with 6 acts on stage. And finally the well...
