Of everything the Preacher factors into this one, great message, there is one thing he fears: that a man will hear, then forget. He doesn't fear being wrong, but being right... again.

A negative approach to the natural desire for comfort. What does a life look like without comfort? What does the Preacher tell us will provide real, lasting comfort?

The Preacher expounds upon the transition, the travail, and the termination of the world to shew that without Divine revelation, direction, or reproof, man is no better than a beast.

Solomon seeks to work out of the problems of life by himself. He shows that without God, no amount of work can bring meaning out of life without God. Only a walk with God will satisfy, where these infamous alternatives fail.

A man without Christ ought not deceive himself with positive views of life. The preacher sees, and speaks the negative truth, which is what we need to solve our biggest problems.

True Biblical greatness follows the manliness of Jesus Christ, as patterned in the life of Joseph the Great.
