Richard Ellis Talks

Just because our government legalizes something that a lot of very nice people take part in, it doesn’t change what the Bible says about sin. The Bible is very clear about all sin, and if we are followers of Christ then we must take a stand for what the Bible says and be willing to speak the truth in love no matter what it may cost us. God designed sex to stay within marriage, yet we live in a culture that has made it normal to be used for mere enjoyment without boundaries. No matter what other people say or think, the Bible is clear and in order to keep ourselves from consequences we must choose to live our lives in obedience to God and His design and encourage others to do the same. The culture we live in has been increasingly accepting of heinous sins, and there are too many Christians who sit down and do nothing about it. It is important that we take part in choosing those in authority for our country, and even more than that we need to be standing up against sin for what is right. It is easy to be selfish with our money, but we must realize that it’s not even ours to begin with. When we live as though all of our money is God’s we will spend it differently and for the purpose of blessing others and glorifying Him. God wants to use us for His great work, but He uses trials to prepare us for those works. If we spend our lives running from trials, we will never be strengthened and refined to be used by God for great things. If we prepare ourselves by studying Scripture, then face the trials head on when they come, we show ourselves to be His good and faithful servants, willing and able to be used by Him howeve...

In order for God to use us to bless others we need to go to Him for wisdom in using all the things He’s given us. When we seek His wisdom in our finances, we will bless us and bless others through us. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

We all have things in our lives that annoy us like a constant drip of water or yapping Chihuahua. Rather than letting these things get the best of us, we should follow Christ’s example and keep our eyes on the Lord, learning from these things whatever it is He wants to teach us. The story of Samson is a great example of someone who screwed their life up and yet God still used them anyway. We are all cracked from things in our past, but God can pick us up and use us to hit a homerun. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

If we want to know what God’s will for our lives is we need to read His Word. He has given us directions on how to live and it is better that we know it than to live ignorantly and face consequences. We may still make mistakes, but we always know the directions to come back to. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

The Christian life is founded and centered on the New Testament truths of Jesus coming to earth to save us and free us from the power of sin and death. In Him we have new life and are promised an eternal future. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

It’s easy to complain when we’re not getting what we want, but the Bible tells us to have faith in God without complaining. We can learn from the Israelites who didn’t get to see the promised land because they chose to complain instead of believe, and we can put our trust in God who has never let us down in the past. Just like homing pigeons have some way of always returning home, we as Christians have the Spirit that draws us back to God no matter how far away we may drift. Repentance is not only for the unbeliever, but also for us as believers, and we need to stop wherever we are and return to God. It is important that we all, as leaders, listen to wisdom from others above us so that we can lead those who are following well. When we mess up, it is important to repent of our mistakes and apologize to the person or people that it has affected, especially God. When we put our hope in God alone, our lives are anchored in truth and we are held fast through all trials and tribulations. Those who do not have Jesus have no hope. It is by clinging to Him through all our tribulations that will produce in us the fruit of perseverance, character and eternal hope. We must obey God’s promptings to speak up and share the Gospel message with the people we come in contact with day to day. He is always working on the other side and so we must listen for His voice and obey when He calls because other people’s lives are at stake. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice who silently took the punishment for our sins so that we can have a relationship with God. He gives us a perfect example of being silent when suffering comes because either God is shearing us from the fluff of our lives for His sake or He will defend us from what comes against us. We are promised Heaven when we receive the free gift of salvation offered to us because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, but the way we live our life is still a choice we must make every day. God wants us to live a life to the fullest, walking in obedience to Him. It’s important that we keep progressing forward, learning from our mistakes, and growing in Him. Christ’s blood washes away all of our sin and God’s love never stops no matter how much we sin, but we still need to come to a place of repentance so that we can receive the help He offers. God’s love, grace and mercy never reaches a limit, so let’s respond to that and live in gratitude. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

Though trials and struggles will come, God has purpose in everything to make us holy and no one will take better care of us than Him. Christ’s death paid our debt and we are made free, but God desires for us to choose to stay with Him as His slave because He takes such great care of us. Our sin nature that we’re born into puts our lives in a nosedive. We have the choice to continue that way, sinning all the more because we’re going down anyway or lying to ourselves thinking that we can fix it on our own. The truth is that only Jesus can give us the power to fly, so we must turn nose up and allow Him to work in us and through us to live the life God intended for us to live. To sup...

In the story of Job, we see a righteous man and his wife suffer extreme hardship and loss. Yet, because Job chose to worship God in the midst of the suffering, God restored to him and his wife greater blessing. It does not erase the pain they suffered, but God carried Job through, even when his wife struggled in her job to encourage him in the Lord, and God offers us His same companionship in all...

As Christians, we live in a fallen world that is drawing us away from God and His design and plan for our lives. Rather than give into the ways of the world, we must armor ourselves as Scripture instructs us to do, protect ourselves appropriately and start each day strengthened by the Word to fight back against the schemes of the devil. The issue of racism is not a government problem but rather a church problem. It is our job as Christians to treat all believers as family, as brothers and sisters because in Christ there is no distinction. The only thing that can keep us together as family regardless of differences is love. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29

The Bible is like a letter written to us by God, and we need to treat it as such a valuable letter that we read over and over to learn more about Him. None of it will make sense unless we ask Him to reveal Himself to us through the Scripture, and when He does we can help others learn about Him as well. While it is important to study Scripture, we need to remember that God doesn’t want to use us because of all the great knowledge we can obtain but rather so that He gets the glory through us. If you are humble and willing to do whatever He asks, you are qualified to do His work. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/640/29
