The Bible teaches that there is both a physical and a spiritual death. Unless Jesus returns in our lifetime, we are all going to experience a physical death. When we look for Biblical teaching, we need to be willing to find something that may make us uncomfortable because it convicts us of our sin. Multiple times in the Gospels Jesus shows us a picture of His relationship with the Father by seeking His guidance and approval before stepping out on His own.
