Paul begins the book of 2 Corinthians in a very practical call for God to be our comfort. Paul was no stranger to challenge. Yet, as distressing as his challenges were, he sought his comfort in the Lord, and he carefully calls us to do the same.

Jesus is confronted with accusations against His authority and His kingdom. His response not only stops the attack and lies, but also invites the listeners to respond from their hearts in allegiance to His superior Kingdom.

The cross represents the power of Jesus Christ and His work of salvation. This work transforms people, leaving a lasting effect upon them that is meant to be displayed before the world. Paul challenges us in this passage to let our walk be a living testimony of the glory of the cross.

In this passage, we find Jesus rejoicing over the work and message of the disciples. In it, we find Him blessing the disciples, but there is also a similar, more important blessing for us.

The Law of sowing and reaping is paramount to understanding the spiritual life. The difficulty lies in discerning the fruit of our heart. Be challenged and encouraged to address the hidden issue of our heart’s passion.

The battle with our own flesh, sin, and temptations is great. However, we have pledged our allegiance to Christ, and now the Spirit not only lives inside us but also guides us. We will examine the very practical aspect of walking with the Spirit.

This passage gives us the clearest statement of purpose concerning the freedom we have in Christ. Christ set us free so that we can love others in a magnificent display of God’s grace. Our liberty, used to show love, is the fulfillment of the law.

Understanding the current freedom we have in Christ is paramount to our success as Christians. We are free from religious law. This freedom ensures us of our confidence in Christ. Be encouraged by this passage that calls us to liberty.

In Galatians 4, the Apostle Paul confronts a dangerous misunderstanding among believers who were tempted to return to the security of religious rules and legal systems. This passage challenges us to examine how we see ourselves before God.

Paul is beginning to lay out the great explanation of the Gospel, which stands on faith alone in Christ alone. It is because of God’s grace that sinners are drawn to Him, redeemed by Him, and transformed by Him. Paramount to that explanation is the purpose of the law.

Mankind struggles with the pull of formal religion, depending upon its own effort to gain favor with God or to maintain it. However, Paul addresses this issue head-on with truth and love, which challenges the readers to evaluate the fundamentals of their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Look to Jesus and the suffering he endured to and on the cross for our salvation.

The death of Jesus Christ was expected to end the people’s interest in His message, but it only drove the interest higher when He rose from the dead, issuing His decree of victory over sin and death. What wicked men and Satan thought would overthrow God, only completed His plan for salvation to the world.

Things are not what they seem in this passage. A large crowd celebrated Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, but His reaction to them is unexpected and revealing of what is going on in many people's hearts.
