Ideas in Practice with Evelyn

Ideas in Practice with Evelyn is an ongoing reflective inquiry exploring awareness, cognition, unfinished thinking, and how ideas gradually form across changing conditions and states of experience. Through reflections on daily life, work, learning, and a long-term dream journal practice, the podcast examines how thinking shifts across unstable awareness, environmental change, reflection, and ongoing cognitive processing. Rather than focusing on dream interpretation, the project explores how thoughts, patterns, and unfinished ideas continue evolving before they fully stabilize into language,

EP10: What Started Emerging Across the Inquiry 04.08.2026

Season 1 of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn began as a simple experiment: recording dreams and observing what could be remembered over time. But as the observations continued, recurring patterns slowly started to emerge. In this episode, I reflect on what developed across the first phase of the inquiry, including: unstable awareness changing thinking conditions environmental influence on cognition f...

EP09: What Happens When the Mind Keeps Processing 28.07.2026

What happens when the mind never fully seems to stop processing? In this episode of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore experiences where thinking appeared to continue across unstable transitions between sleeping, waking, dreaming, and reflection. Through ongoing reflective observations, this episode examines: the feeling that the mind never completely turns off how thinking may continue eve...

EP08: Why Some Thoughts Disappear When We Try to Explain Them 22.07.2026

Sometimes a thought feels clear while we are experiencing it — but the moment we try to explain it, parts of it begin to disappear. In this episode of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore how reflection, articulation, and explanation may change what remains accessible in memory and thought. Through ongoing reflective observations, this episode examines: why some thoughts become harder to acce...

EP07: Why Thinking Changes When We Move Through Different Environments 07.07.2026

Thinking does not always feel the same across different environments. In this episode of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore how movement, transitions, crowded spaces, and changing surroundings may influence attention, continuity, and the way thinking behaves. Through ongoing reflective observations, this episode examines: how environments may affect focus and cognitive stability why attenti...

EP06: Why Awareness Doesn’t Mean Control 23.06.2026

Awareness is often associated with clarity and control. But what happens when awareness is present, yet control still doesn’t happen? In this episode of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore the difference between awareness, influence, and control through ongoing reflective observations across dreaming, thinking, and everyday experience. This episode examines: why awareness does not always lea...

EP05: When Awareness Becomes Uncertain 10.06.2026

In Episode 5 of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore moments where awareness itself starts to feel uncertain. As this reflective inquiry continued, I began noticing experiences where I could no longer clearly tell whether I was awake, dreaming, or thinking somewhere in between. Awareness was still present, but the boundary between states no longer felt stable. This episode reflects on uncerta...

EP04: Why Thinking Doesn’t Always Feel the Same 26.05.2026

In Episode 4 of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore a subtle but important shift: why thinking does not always feel the same. Some experiences feel clear and structured, while others feel fragmented or difficult to follow. But there are also moments where it feels like something was happening internally, thoughts were forming, processing was occurring, yet nothing remains accessible afterwar...

EP03: When Awareness Starts Changing the Experience 14.05.2026

In Episode 3 of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I continue exploring what happens when awareness begins to change the experience itself. What started as a practice of observing patterns gradually became something more interactive. Over time, I noticed moments where I was no longer simply observing, but thinking within the experience itself, questioning situations, making decisions, and becoming aw...

EP02: What Happens When We Turn Awareness into Practice 05.05.2026

In this episode of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I continue the conversation from Episode 1: Ideas Don’t Fail. Context Does. After nearly 30 days of recording my dreams, I began to notice patterns, not in the details, but in how situations unfold. At the same time, while preparing for a presentation, I saw similar patterns emerging in real life. This led to a simple but important realization: co...

EP01: Ideas Don’t Fail — Context Does 13.04.2026

In this first episode of Ideas in Practice with Evelyn , I explore a simple but important question: Why do good ideas not always work the way we expect in practice? In many institutional settings, ideas are well-designed, logical, and carefully planned. But when it comes to implementation, the outcome can be very different. In this episode, I reflect on what happens in the space between theory and...
