Hero Bishop Show

Toy collecting has its own species of people. The in-box collector, the Hot Toys soft-goods perfectionist, the import figure elitist, the third-party collector, the Facebook Marketplace lowballer, the life-size bust guy, and the “it’s an investment” guy. If you’ve been in this hobby long enough, you’ve definitely met these collectors… and maybe become one of them. Which collector type should I roa...

Everyone recommends the same classic X-Men stories—but what about the hidden gems? In this video, we’re diving into three essential X-Men storylines every comic fan should experience: Phalanx Covenant, Onslaught, and the legendary 1991 X-Men relaunch by Jim Lee. Whether you’re a brand-new reader or someone who grew up during the 90s comic boom, these stories helped shape everything that came after...

Why did Wolverine suddenly start wearing a black do-rag during the ’90s? It wasn’t just a new look.  After Magneto ripped the adamantium out of Logan’s body during Fatal Attractions, Wolverine entered one of the darkest periods in his history. His healing factor went into overdrive, his bone claws emerged, and he slowly became more feral than ever before.  With X-Men ’97 bringing classic comic sto...

What’s up y’all, today we are talking about how scalpers completely ruined action figures AND high-end statues like Iron Studios. Empty shelves, bot-sniped pre-orders, insane markups on $25 figures and $300+ statues — it’s sucking the joy out of nerd collecting. Real talk, receipts, comedy breaks, and me losing my mind a little in this unfiltered rant. (Hero Bishop Social Media) Instgram - https:/...

Age of Apocalypse wasn’t just another X-Men crossover. It was Marvel’s biggest gamble during one of the most chaotic periods in comic book history. With comic sales collapsing, speculation running wild, and bankruptcy looming around the corner, Marvel replaced their entire X-Men line with a dark alternate universe where Apocalypse ruled the world. In this video we break down: Legion Quest Magneto’...

I finally canceled my weekly comic pull list. Not because I hate comics… But because I LOVE comics. Modern comics just don’t hit the same anymore. The stories, the characters, the endless reboots, the events, the FOMO marketing… it started feeling more like obligation than passion. Meanwhile I’ve got stacks of unread omnibuses full of the stuff I actually grew up loving: 90s X-Men, Punisher, Ghost...

After my last Punisher recommendations video, a lot of you asked for more reading suggestions. So I went back into the collection and pulled out three Punisher books that deserve more attention. Today we’re looking at the classic 1986 Punisher miniseries, the underrated graphic novel Intruder, and the wild Marvel/DC crossover Deadly Knights.  If you’re looking to dive deeper into Frank Castle’s wo...

Collecting used to be simple. Now the hobby has evolved into complete insanity.  In this episode of the Hero Bishop Show, we break down the different types of collectors in nerd culture, from high-end statue elitists and Marvel Legends addicts to anime statue “art experts,” vintage toy historians, and the super serious dudes trying to convince everyone their toys are investment assets. We also tal...

Spawn (1997) should have changed comic book movies forever… instead it became one of the biggest missed opportunities in superhero film history. In this episode of the Hero Bishop Show, we break down exactly what went wrong with the Spawn movie, from the terrible CGI and confused tone to the behind-the-scenes chaos that doomed the film from the start. We also dive into: Why John Leguizamo as Clown...

Thomas Jane understood Frank Castle better than modern Marvel does. Yeah, the 2004 Punisher movie wasn’t perfect. The Florida setting was weird. Making Frank a cop was dumb. BUT… This version still understood: the skull the coldness the tactical mindset the psychological warfare and the FEAR Punisher should create. Meanwhile modern Punisher adaptations often feel more like: rage monsters emotional...

Before the MCU… before Netflix… before modern Marvel turned Punisher into an angry trauma machine… there was THIS. The 1989 Punisher movie starring Dolph Lundgren is one of the weirdest, grimiest, most unhinged comic book movies ever made. No skull logo. No flashy superhero visuals. Just sewer tunnels, organized crime, brutal violence, and Frank Castle wiping entire gangs off the map like an exhau...

The galaxy’s favorite space dad is back. Today we’re reviewing THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU and breaking down whether this movie actually restores hope for Star Wars fans… or if Disney just slapped Baby Yoda on another merch campaign and prayed for the best. We’re talking: • Din Djarin as the tired space cowboy dad • Grogu still being an absolute menace • Action scenes • fan service • Star Wars lor...

After my Punisher video, the comments went insane. People weren’t even arguing about the video anymore… they were mad about a Joker picture in the background. That’s when it hit me. Not everything is ragebait.  In this Hero Bishop Show episode, we’re talking about how comic culture is being taken over by loud extremes, from “everything is woke” to “everything needs to be rewritten.”  Most of these...

Punisher comics used to feel DANGEROUS. Today we’re talking about the BEST Punisher stories ever made: Punisher: War Zone by Chuck Dixon & John Romita Jr. Punisher MAX by Garth Ennis The Slavers Barracuda Wolverine and the Punisher: Damaging Evidence Ghost Rider, Wolverine & Punisher: Hearts of Darkness and the new Punisher series by Benjamin Percy. This is classic grimy Marvel Comics stor...

Punisher: One Last Kill still doesn’t feel like Frank Castle to me. Yeah the violence was brutal and the skull looked a little better… but that’s not enough. Modern Hollywood keeps turning stoic masculine antiheroes into emotional wrecks that all act the same. In this Hero Bishop Show breakdown, we talk about why modern Punisher feels more like Wolverine, why Hollywood seems uncomfortable writing...

Everybody says Batman doesn’t kill. But if that’s true… why does the history say otherwise? From Detective Comics #27 to The Dark Knight Returns, and even the movies, we’re breaking down the real truth behind Batman’s so-called “no-kill rule.” This isn’t the clean version. This is the version fans don’t want to talk about. We’re talking:  • Golden Age Batman using guns • The Joker situation in The...

Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is one of the most popular versions of Frank Castle… but is it actually comic accurate? In this episode of the Hero Bishop Show, we break down the real differences between the Punisher from Marvel comics and the versions we’ve seen on screen.  From Ray Stevenson’s cold, calculated killer in Punisher War Zone to the emotional, rage-driven version played by Jon Bernthal in Th...

People love to act like comics are “for nerds”… but some of the biggest rappers ever were deep in comic book culture WAY before it was cool. We’re talking real crossovers, real influence, and real proof. From Eazy-E being connected to Marvel during the 90s boom… to Eminem literally appearing in a comic with The Punisher… to MF DOOM building a whole supervillain persona inspired by Doctor Doom… …an...

We just walked out of Project Hail Mary… and yeah… it’s GOOD. But let’s be real for a second… Is it REALLY as amazing as everybody saying? This is a raw, straight-out-the-theater reaction. No breakdown. No deep dive. Just honest thoughts on what worked, what didn’t, and why it might be getting a little too much hype. We talk: • What we actually liked • Where it dragged a bit • Why it didn’t fully...

What started as nostalgia… turned into something darker. In this episode of the Hero Bishop Show, we break down the real side of comic collecting — the side nobody talks about.  From violent comic shop robberies… to collectors losing their lives… to $200,000 heists and convention thefts… This isn’t just a hobby anymore.  This is real. We’re breaking down Marvel’s X-Men Annual #1 (2026) — the new one-shot comic where the X-Men battle a villain who controls imagination itself in a visually insane, meta comics throwdown! Today is New Comic Book Day and Marvel dropped THREE fresh #1 issues… so we’re diving in. I read Punisher #1, Magik and Colossus #1, and Wade Wilson Deadpool #1 — and not all of them hit the same.  Is Frank Castle back in brutal form? Did Deadpool actually make me laugh? And what kind of chaos happens when Magik and Colossus team up?  We’re breaking down story, art, tone, and whether these are wor...

Before brand deals… before sponsored shelves… there was Glenn Webb. This tribute honors one of the most genuine voices the toy collecting community has ever known — the creator behind Webb of Action Figures. He didn’t just review toys. He made collectors feel seen, understood, and proud to still love the heroes that shaped them. Gone at 40. Never forgotten. If Glenn ever made you laugh, smile, or...
